Pauline,
That's IT! I've had enough!!! Only joking!
I'm not going to use my old thread (Things I Like and Don't Like) anymore. I just typed 10 lines to TG and the b****y thing would not post, and I was cut off, so I'm wondering if the volume of the thread is the cause??? BUT, there have also been many, many times in the past when...I've clicked the arrow at the top left, or the large red active arrow to return to previous window, and there has been no action atall, just a dead window.
Now, I know that old Fussy is getting on a bit and people will say....he's a doddering old git, and doesn't know a Baileys from a bulls foot. BUT, old Fussy's going to dispute that with a simple question......WHY is it that Fussy does NOT get this problem with ANY of the other numerous websites he visits over the last 9 years?
Which, makes me think again....that something is not quite right with the delivery of the site from ForumCo. There's a definite weakness somewhere along the line.
Or, of course, it could possibly be that the broadband's heavy traffic is coincidentally causing the blip.
Still,...not to worry Pauline, it's not the end of the bloomin' world, only a cause for a few swearwords now and again.
Ho! Ho! Ho!

Well I can believe that Bob m8, I've never had a problem with my mother in law (I do'nt see her very often anyway ) but a pal of mine's got a mother in law who makes Gengis Khan look like St Francis of Assisi, so it's not that hard for me to believe what you say about yours.

Sorry I missed being here last week, I had a stinking cold and the missis made me stay indoors out of the 'orrible weather Hope your family are over their attacks of flu crazynance. Nice to see you again, good luck with the book gal

By jingo,...time flies, eh! It'll be Christmas before I've swept the back yard,...

Guinness mouthwash indeed! Typical Robert remark, innit.
Fussy Posted - 20 November 2009 : 13:21:57

Shame on you!.....Wait till I see her. YOU'LL need a ruddy mouthwash after I tell her a few home truths about her son-in-law.

Nan,
That's a target of 32,700 words in 11 days,...looks as if your family are going to be without Mums' mollycoddling for the next 11 days, 'coz she is going to be scribbling words on pad after pad.
She won't even have time to fill the kettle.
Ho! Ho! Ho!

BTW,...Love to all,......and think 7. It still stands out a mile in my thoughts of hubby.
crazynance Posted - 18 November 2009 : 21:06:23
hello! :D Thanks for the wishes..

My lot have now all had the flu, 'cept me. Prolly cuz I'm vegetarian now. Plus I gargle with antibacterial mouthwash.

How're y'all doing? No snow here yet. It's November, so I'm trying to write a novel again.. www.nanowrimo.org My word count is low. Got to have 50,000 by Nov 30, and I'm only at 17,300 or so.
Fussy Posted - 18 November 2009 : 18:04:28

Well, as I said a while back...I was feeling a bit down recently,...no I haven't had the perishing flu thank goodness, not yet anyway.
I popped in here now and again during the last week or so, but it was dead silent so I wasn't in the mood to talk to myself, so I got on with a lot of odd jobs to fill my time.

I've just heard on Ch5 news that some vile moron had abandoned about 20 puppies in two suitcases, and left them to die.
I can't print what punishment I would dish out to that ghastly individual who committed those defenceless little creatures to such terrible suffering.

Larry Lamb Posted - 08 November 2009 : 15:10:45
I'm feeling more than a bit down myself. Think I might emigrate
Fussy Posted - 05 November 2009 : 15:09:43

I'm beginning to feel a bit down,...'scuse the pun, Bob.
Fussy Posted - 04 November 2009 : 16:46:31

Ooooooh! Belated Happy Birthday greetings from me too, crazynance.

My memory is failing,...all due to my D of B.
We are not all as young as our Bob,...he's a 'spring chicken,' even though he boasts a bus pass.

Well buggar me, this site's at it again First it was an hour fast, then Fussy says it was right last Thursday, but now it's an hour SLOW, I posted myy first message at 14.45 but it says up above it was 13.45. It wouldn't do to go by this site if you were trying to catch a bus would it
The Gravedigger Posted - 03 November 2009 : 13:45:33
I tried it, and all I can say is I'm glad I've got my own teeth, because if I had false ones they'd have been on the floor after wrestling with that
Larry Lamb Posted - 01 November 2009 : 15:54:22
Hope you have a nice day down west Fussy m8. Thanks for the lager, if I buy myself another dozen to go with it maybe it'll cheer me up and make me forget how lonely it is round here

I'm not even going to try to say that there tongue twister, I might do myself an injury I'd sure like to hear our Bob having a go at it though, bet he could do it with his eyes shut
Fussy Posted - 31 October 2009 : 19:11:28

Larry,
I shall not be here tomorrow - that's for certain, am off down west, sorry M8.

Here's a tipple, so hold out your glass,...swoosh, swoosh, swoosh, swoosh, that's a halfpint of lager so drink up. Hope it brings a smile to your face, Larry.

Been dead quiet on here again this week. Have you had a go at the tongue twister I put on here yesterday? It's a real corker, innit.
Ho! Ho! Ho!

Take care M8.
(On second thoughts...it's possible that I may be back before dark tomorrow, but don't bank on it.)
Fussy Posted - 30 October 2009 : 18:20:49

Did you know....

It is physically impossible for pigs to look up into the sky.

A crocodile can't stick it's tongue out.

A shrimp's heart is in it's head.

Horses can't vomit.

Like fingerprints, everyone's tongue print is different.

The 'sixth sick shiek's sixth sheep's sick' is said to be the toughest tongue twister in the English language.
(And I bet it could be tougher still, after first - removing false teeth.)

Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho!

Someone's been working at it. I wonder who?
Fussy Posted - 29 October 2009 : 20:12:04

It's now 20.10.

I wonder if it posts somewhere near 20.10???
The Gravedigger Posted - 29 October 2009 : 16:05:36

What next, eh!

Just read in todays paper about an 18 year old youth who has committed 665 crimes,...stsrting at the age of 12 years. The punishment dished out by the judge?....wait for it!
He is to be provided with a house - rent free - so that he can live in it with his girlfriend, and start life afresh.

Fussy Posted - 27 October 2009 : 19:16:49

I'm with you all the way, Larry. The punishment should have been far more severe for abandoning those 90 defenceless dogs.
That is what's seriously lacking in this country,...the punishment never seems to fit the crime. It's pathetic!
Larry Lamb Posted - 25 October 2009 : 17:43:00
I would'nt say no to a slice of Sophie and Sadies birthday cake either Pauline All those photos of your cakes on your old website always had my mouth watering Yum-yum
Larry Lamb Posted - 25 October 2009 : 17:37:38
Yes I saw that on that on the telly Fussy, St Bernards was'nt it. I do'nt understand how anybody can do something like that to an innocent animal If I was the judge I'd give the evil sods a lot more than 4 measly months, I'd have them bloody horse whipped then lock em up without food and water, give the b******s a taste of their own medicine and see how they like it. Scum like that are'nt fit to live
Fussy Posted - 23 October 2009 : 19:16:18

Just heard on the news about a female jailed for 4 months for abandoning goodness knows how many dogs - possibly dozens, - and clearing off on a holiday to Tenerife, leaving them without sufficient food and water. Many were found dead when the RSPCA checked after responding to a call from a local number.

I think...Pauline and I would have a different jail term to the one mentioned above.
Fussy Posted - 22 October 2009 : 20:23:58

BTW, if you click the page number 16 in my thread 'Fussy's Likes and Dislikes' instead of clicking the little throbbing red arrow on the right-hand side, you won't have to fiddle about with the 2006/07 pages that pop up.
Aren't I brilliant.
Fussy Posted - 22 October 2009 : 19:17:12

Well!!! That's funny. When I posted on here this afternoon it was on a WHITE section of the thread....Now it's on a GREEN section.

And I didn't see Bob's posting of yesterday until later today.
Ho! Ho! Ho! Something funny going on here. I can't imagine Polty being so b****y daft, as to be so clever!
Fussy Posted - 22 October 2009 : 14:36:45

Ooooh! Quiet on here, innit. Not that it's much different from the norm, I Suppose.

'ow're iw doin' Fuss? Well, not too bad like, you know! Had a chat with my doc' on Tuesday, and the 'mechanism in the old factory' is running normal, so that news put me on a high and a broad smile on my fizzog as I walked back to my home.

At my D of B one has blood tests and pressure tests every six months, so it's a bit of a relief when told that the steering, engine, and tyres of the old Austin 7 are in good shape.
Ho! Ho! Ho! Don't fancy running the London Marathon though.

It's been as quiet as a grave on here for a long, long time. Nobody is more aware of that than me.
I've been talking to myself so much over the past couple of years, I'm beginning to think I'm...'not a round shilling.'
The Gravedigger Posted - 19 October 2009 : 23:37:00
Yep, it's as quiet as the grave round here I've looked in now and then, but there never seems to be anything new to reply to, so I just sign out again. It's sad
Larry Lamb Posted - 18 October 2009 : 16:44:29
Threadstill playing up I see. Well I do'nt know what to talk about now, nobody seems to have posted anything since I was here last sunday so there's nothing for me to answer, and I've run out of jokes for the time being, so I might as well go home carrying my tail behind me like one of Little Bo Peeps sheep
Larry Lamb Posted - 11 October 2009 : 16:46:44
I see what you mean about this thread, like Gravedigger I also clicked to go the last post but ended up on the first page - December 2006 What with this and the weird goings-on on woof woof thread I'd say our poltergeist was definately on the prowl again again I'm with Bob, I think I'm in need of a crucifix - and I'm not even a catholic
Fussy Posted - 10 October 2009 : 14:23:35

Well, I hope you find your crucifix soon, Bob 'cos it's like a desert island on here and there's no sign of a ship on the horizon to come and rescue me.
If I did see a ship I'd take my shirt off and frantically wave it, hoping they'd drop anchor nearby and come and have a little gossip.
I'd even swing a Baileys bottle in the air,...to tempt them.

So, Pauline...do your stuff my friend, and lock my 'Likes and Dislikes' to page 16, or else I'll be behind time and still yapping in 2007.
Fussy Posted - 09 October 2009 : 18:04:20

Was still getting page 1 (2007) when I clicked on here a few minutes ago.
I've just re-set this to page 16 now,...hope it a stays that way.
The Gravedigger Posted - 08 October 2009 : 22:00:40
Same thing just happened to me Fussy, I clicked on the arrow to go to the last post but I ended up on page 1 like you, thought for a mo I was time-travelling, LOL Weird isn't it, must be that damn poltergeist at work again
Fussy Posted - 08 October 2009 : 19:43:39

When I clicked my Likes and Dislikes thread a few minutes ago, it showed up as Page 1 back in 2007.
Now, how on earth did that happen? I got it back by changing the page No at the bottom left to page 16.
But HOW did it get to Page 1, anyway???
Larry Lamb Posted - 04 October 2009 : 16:43:49
Damn, thought I was never going to get in here today, it's taken me ages to sign on, Do'nt know if the troubles with me or the site

Fussy Posted - 01 October 2009 : 15:18:55

Fussy Posted - 29 September 2009 : 15:48:54

Sorry, Bob. My glasses must have misted up. I missed your posting there. You wouldn't have broken a tooth if you only sipped a Werthers mun,...you don't bite a Werthers, mun. You must have had one too many again and your napper was in a bit of a muddle.

I don't like silence,...never did like silence,..,it's weird!

It's as if Polty is lurking around here.

Fussy Posted - 28 September 2009 : 18:12:07

Whenever you see a man open a car door for his wife, you can be sure that either the car is new or the wife is.

Policeman: You were exceeding the speed limit, madam.
Lady Driver: I'm sorry constable. I was trying to get home before my petrol ran out.

How long have you been driving?
Not long, just three trees, two lamp-posts and a pedestrian.

Maybe Pauline's left home, she's always saying how she wants to move up North
Larry Lamb Posted - 27 September 2009 : 17:37:07
Yeah it's all a bit of a bother innit I dunno why they had to change everything, it'll only mean a few thousand old tellys going on the scrapheap and adding to the pollution, as if we did'nt have enough junk lying around already
Fussy Posted - 27 September 2009 : 17:37:06

Don't know what it's like with you Larry, but this site is not running very well today,...sometimes it takes about a minute and a half to change threads.
BTW, haven't heard from Pauline for over a week now. Hope she's OK.
Larry Lamb Posted - 27 September 2009 : 17:32:46
I liked Dean Martin too, I used to enjoy his Matt Helm films, they were a sort of spoof on the James Bond theme and they had some very good looking girls in them too as I recall
Fussy Posted - 27 September 2009 : 17:29:21

I notice we've got to re-tune the TVs again on Wednesday this week.
By the time all this ruddy tuning finishes we'll be qualified TV engineers.
Fussy Posted - 27 September 2009 : 17:22:36

Yeah, the older you get m8 the more you get to appreciate the likes of Andy Williams and Doris Day. Ho! Ho! Ho!

And Mat Munro.
Larry Lamb Posted - 27 September 2009 : 17:22:30
Yeah, to my mind Sean Connery was the only James Bond. Some of the others were'nt too bad as substitutes, but this latest one does'nt fit the part at all, he looks a bit of a wimp to me
Larry Lamb Posted - 27 September 2009 : 17:17:42
Nah I was'nt a huge fan of the Beatles, I was just a kid when they were at their height, but my older sister was daft on them and she played their records so much I got sick and tired of them Punk was all the rage when I hit my teens I enjoy Nat king Cole nowadays though, I must be getting old, Lol
Fussy Posted - 27 September 2009 : 17:15:02

There's a film on TV at the moment Larry. I bet you'd remember it.
It's Thunderball...James Bond. 1965.
Fussy Posted - 27 September 2009 : 17:02:54

Well, I was shocked to see the front page of The Mail yesterday.
A police chief said,...it's not the responsibility of the police to respond to deal with young hooligans committing hell upon earth in your district. He said, it was the local council who should deal with such matters.
What next, eh!
Fussy Posted - 27 September 2009 : 16:55:09

I was on my tod for most of last week again. Where the hell they've gone to I don't know.
Still, I'll keep on talking to myself,...that should keep the boat sailing, eh!
Fussy Posted - 27 September 2009 : 16:50:15

Have you listened to my song...Autumn Leaves?
Was Nat King Cole a favoutite in your young days Larry?
Or perhaps it was The Beatles, was it?
Fussy Posted - 27 September 2009 : 16:45:54

Hi Larry,
Cold are you Larry. Get an inside job mun. What about training to be a chef, that would warm the cockles of your heart, you'd have a piping hot oven to keep you sweating.
I think my hatred of the heat was due to my stretch of time in the Far East, sweating like a pig 24/7, with jungle sores and all the rest.
Larry Lamb Posted - 27 September 2009 : 16:35:19
I think we've bypassed Autumn and gone straight into winter because it's blooming freezing here today I never used to mind any of the seasons, just accepted whatever came along, but the older I get the more I start to dread the thought of winters. maybe it's time I looked for another sort of work, something indoors with cental heating A fish and chip shop would be nice, especially if it included all the scrumps I could eat
Fussy Posted - 26 September 2009 : 15:10:55

If you reminded them of an Albino,...would it be 'cos you are white above the forehead, or perhaps no white atall, just a shiny surface?
No offence intended Bob.
Ho! Ho! Ho!

I prefer the Autumn 'cos I sip more Baileys in cooler weather.
I don't like sizzling sweaty hot weather.

Yeah, my glasses get steemed up often these days,...it's all due to my DofB M8. Ho! Ho! Ho!
Have you noticed,...I've been on my tod again this last week.
Think I'll emigrate!
Fussy Posted - 20 September 2009 : 17:23:54

Oooooh! Good job I checked,...you're still there M8.
Yeah, those were good old days in AoL. I had a request from Andrew a couple of years ago asking if I'd like to return, because they'd had some problems with one or two of the old crew, so I didn't like to let him down so I posted 2 or 3 times but i stopped then because I didn't care much for the atmosphere.
Larry Lamb Posted - 20 September 2009 : 17:20:32
Fussy m8, are your glasses steamed up again LOL
Fussy Posted - 20 September 2009 : 17:16:37

B****r me,...looks as if I've missed Larry after all, so I might as well go and have some tea.
Larry Lamb Posted - 20 September 2009 : 17:12:59
Yeah I used to pop in to AOL back then, I was working in Folly Farm in those days so I could use the computer more often

How do these women manage to walk on 4inch heels ? It must be like trying to balance on a pair of knitting needles, LOL
Fussy Posted - 20 September 2009 : 17:10:55

By the way Larry, Liz and me had a meal in The Forge on thursday afternoon. You know The Forge...it's a restaurant on the was to St Clears. We always have a cracking meal there. I can recommend it to anyone. I had a gammon steak about 3/4 inch thick. I've never ever had such a gammon before,...and it was delicious.

I'm not exagerating...it was 3/4 inch thick.
Ho! Ho! Ho!
Fussy Posted - 20 September 2009 : 17:02:46

Haven't had a reply yet from Pauline, after I asked her if she still had the shoes with the 4 inch heels.
Ho! Ho! Ho!
Fussy Posted - 20 September 2009 : 17:00:22

It was good to hear from crazynance, at least we know that she's still around.
Fussy Posted - 20 September 2009 : 16:58:18

Puff. puff puff! Ooooh, I've just made it up these ruddy stairs Larry.
How's life M8?

Yeah, when I pasted those couple of excerpts last night I was wondering if you were with us on AoL at that time.
Larry Lamb Posted - 20 September 2009 : 16:29:12
Hey there crazynance, it's great to hear from you again I thought you'd abandoned us for ever, but now you've found your way back to us I hope you'll be popping in a bit more often in future, we need perking up a bit round here

Oh I'd nearly forgotten about that mag 7 stuff Fussy, it was a lot of fun on aol back then was'nt it? Last time I looked in there it was all doom and gloom and a lot of grumpy gits arguing with each other, not a bit like the good old days
Fussy Posted - 19 September 2009 : 15:20:53

Pauline,
Have you still got those shoes with the 4 inch heels?
Fussy Posted - 19 September 2009 : 15:10:44

Well, I go to Casablanca!!!!!!

Lovely to hear from you crazynance. 'Long time no speak no see.'
Still, as I've often mentioned...it doesn't really matter as to how often you post, as long as you pop in here once in a while to sort of...keep in touch.
Hope you and the 'boss'(?) and your family are keeping well.

Oooooh! That WAS a quirky thing, that I should have opted to pick 9/11 to book you a flight, eh!...Unintentional, honest injun!

Listen folks ! I've just received a message from a very reliable source.....the Undertaker has returned, to take over the Dog House Saloon...as a sideline to his normal day to day job. Also, there's a rumour going around that he is after Andrew's job as sheriff, and he's warned the locals that he intends to bring back hanging for anyone stepping out of line.
We can't let this maniac rule the roost, so I'm waiting for the first opportunity to land a 'thud' on the side of his head with my large...empty Baileys bottle,.....they say, a clout on the side of the head is more damaging than one on the back of the head.
Ughhh ! He's a monster.
I've also heard that he intends rounding-up Bob, Dai, Moonraker, Mashboy, ML, BG, crazynance, welshgirl, KR, Clueless, to do menial jobs in running the saloon. No wages will be paid, but sleeping accomodation and one bowl of soup a day will be provided. One slice of bread each, will depend on whether or not BGs baking abilities are achieved under strenuous conditions ie, one small log fire, comprising old-fashioned oven with hob.
I tell you....this man is dangerous!

Does that mean we have to all share the .... COUCH????? hmmmmm.... well, girls, should we run or line up?? hahahahahaha!

He'll be lucky, trying to get me to do menial jobs ! After a stamp on the instep from a 4-inch heel, a knee in the g*****s and my famous left upper-cut to the jaw he'll be lucky if he ever manages to walk unaided again ! Then I'll bake him a cyanide-flavoured cake to finish him off. ( And just to make doubly sure I'll spread something smelly all over him and get the dogs to lick him to death ! )
Or I could just get my mother to bake some scones and drop one on his head from an upstairs window, that would kill him for sure ! ! ! !

The above, as you jolly well know are a couple of excerpts from our great production of the Mag 7.

I double-up with laughter when I sit back and read through the whole episode of Mag 7.

Take care Nance,
Love to all

Fussy, do you know you posted about me flying there from Canada on 9-11? Just a quirky thing I noticed.. but it's very dear of you to remember me and Hubby. I often think of you all, it's just hard to get time on the computer! :D

Love,
Nance

It was something about the council installing Solar Panels I think, but I didn't catch all of it, I was too busy looking at the background, they showed some nice views of St. Elvans. They showed other areas too, but I recognised Dowlais Street in particular. I used to walk along that street quite often and I remember that they used to have terrible flooding there, there's a playing field on one side of the street, and after the floods there would be a lot of sodden carpets spread out on the wall. Glad I didn't live there.

No, I didn't see the Welsh news last night. What happened in Dowlais St then? Must have been of some importance to have the old town on telly, I should think!
That reminds me,...I must check to see if Google Street has been in the Aberdare area....Although, I doubt it, 'cos Bob would let us know surely.
Pauline Posted - 15 September 2009 : 17:00:22
I'll have a look round that site later, see how much houses in Aberdare are going for these days. Did you see Aberdare on the news last night ? I think that was Dowlais Street.
Fussy Posted - 15 September 2009 : 16:16:11

It's Tuesday, and no sign of life.

Think I'll go for a walk up the park,...it's only about 30 metres from my front door.
