As you are the winner you can have the honour of naming one film that each one of the film stars you mention above were in .

That should keep you busy for a while .LOL

You could very well be assigned the job of
author of WHO'S WHO.
Ho! Ho! Ho!

When you mention Huntz Hall...it takes me back to the days of The Dead End Kids. I always thought he was the dopiest film star I ever saw.
Happy days they were, nevertheless.

There, there now Larry!!! Don't be too upset.
I apologise on behalf of everyone on here.
We really shouldn't have missed you of all people,...and more so because you are the proud owner of 2 Oscars for being the Champion 'Roaming' Grazer....never in the same place for long.
So, to make up for our oversight, we have decided to grant you a further 2 years grazing time in this area. So you are very unlikely to end up as Roast Lamb on BGs dinner table after all, at least not for 2 years anyway.
You can count yourself lucky in a way. because BG has a penchant for roast lamb, and she's been eyeing your movements for some time now. So, watch your step from now on....That's a good tip for you, OK.
Ho! Ho! Ho!

Oh, how could I have forgotten 'Big Hearted Arthur' ? I was only reading something about him recently, it said that he died on the 16th of November 1982, but I don't think that's right !
My Father's brother's birthday was the 23rd of November and it was also his Wedding Anniversarry. 1982 was his Ruby Wedding and his daughter gave them a party to which we were invited (that was a turn-up for the books, she actually spent some money ! )
Anyway, at the time my Father was down here staying in the caravan. I'd been down here for months in the Summer, but was back in Aberdare then, my Father had stayed on to keep an eye on the builders (they tended not to do any work if they weren't watched) and on the day of the party my mother and I came down in a friends car to fetch him home.
On the way down we stopped off in Carmarthen and I clearly remember that as I was crossing the precinct there I heard a radio in a nearby shop doorway and the announcer said that Arthur askey had just died that day !
So if that was on the day of my Uncle's Birthday/Anniversary it would have been the 23rd NOT the 16th. If I could remember who wrote that piece I read saying it was the 16th I'd write and ask them to check up on it !

Clueless I looked it up and Arthur Askey did die on Nov. 16th 1982 .

I look forward to you posting the names of all the films that the above stars played in ,it should be very interesting I bet most of them would have been black and white films .
Still trying to think of some more stars but i'm stumped .

It's really odd about Arthur Askey isn't it, because it was definitely the 23rd when I heard that on the radio. We came on down here, went straight back to Aberdare to get changed, then went up to my cousins house in Penderyn for the Party. The announcer definitely said that Arthur Askey had just died that afternoon. It's really odd (perhaps their Radio was slow ? Like Wellington's in The Perishers that's so old it only gives war-time news bulletins ! LOL !)

Oh my BG, you mean you've never heard of him ? You obviously didn't watch many films in the 30's and 40's ! LOL ! He's even got a Theatre named after him !

With Chic Johnson, Ole was half of that lunatic comedy team from vaudeville, Olsen & Johnson. The pair made several films, among which the most successful (and most representatively loony) was Hellzapoppin (1941).

Brother of actor Steve Olsen.

Father-in-law of William Lear, who invented the 8-track tape and the Lear Jet.

Films:-

Oh, Sailor Behave (1930)

Gold Dust Gertie (1931)

Elmer Guthrie (aka Why Change Your Husband?) (1931) (USA)

Fifty Million Frenchmen (1931)

Country Gentlemen (1936)

All Over Town (1937)

Boy Friend (1939) (uncredited)

Hellzapoppin (1941)

See My Lawyer (1945) aka In a Padded Cell -USA: reissue title)

Cinema Circus (1937) .... as Himself

Crazy House (1943) .... as Himself

Ghost Catchers (1944) ....as Himself

Johnny at the Fair (1947) .... as Himself

"Fireball Fun-For-All" (1949) TV Series .... as Himself

Screen Snapshots: Fun in the Sun (1952) .... as Himself

Classic Comedy Teams (1986) (V) .... Olsen and Johnson

Fussy,i know I shouldn`t contradict my elders, but I think you`ll find that the guy you mentioned up above spells his name Kris Kristofferson!
Beacon Girl,Melina Mercouri made films outside Greece too(bit before my time but my Dad liked her)I vaguely remember seeing "Never on a Sunday" on the telly when I was a kid, probably not suitable viewing for an impressionable lad as I seem to recall she played a `Lady of the evening` lol!But I liked the title song and I used to sing it(badly)all the time and drive everybody nuts.
Can`t think of any stars beginning with those missing letetrs.I DID once hear of a Chinese guy named Xiang Xu(or maybe it was Xu Xiang?)but I think he was a writer,so I don`t suppose he counts

Yes, I think Mischa Auer was born in St. Petersburgh (before the revolutionaries re-named it) He looked funny without doing or saying anything, I can see him now, tall and thin with that pencil moustache and those facial expressions where he sort of tilted his head back and looked down his nose as if he thought everybody around him was either mad or smelled a bit 'off' LOL !
Among other things he was in "You Can't Take It With You" with one of my old favourites, Ann Miller, when she was quite young. Oh, and there was someone in that called Halliwell Hobbs, so there's somebody else that can go on the list !

BG,
Yes I play lots of tricks on Liz, anything for a laugh,...especially when one feels a bit 'down.'
One that's been going for donkey's years is this one.
You know the 1kg Tate and Lyle sugar bag. Well, on returning from Tesco I usually empty the sugar into a tupperware container, but I don't usually dispose of the bag. Oh no,...It's such a strong stoutly made bag, so I press it back to it's original shape and shove it back on the cupboard shelf in the kitchen. Then on the following week she checks the stocks of this and that and makes a shopping list. We don't need sugar she says. Oh yes we do I reply. I'll kill you she says, you've done it again! Ho! Ho! Ho!
I've also tricked her with a Tetleys bag.
Toodlepip
