I've been fairly busy today, preparing some woodwork around the house for a spot of painting. I'm shattered really! So I don't think I shall start swinging the brush for a few more days yet,...I'm not 21 anymore. Ho! Ho! Wish I was! |

No painting for me today....it's raining, so I think I'll settle down to read a book....it's all about one of my old friends, the Lancaster. Think I'll have a tot as well! |

BG, If you happen to look in here, tell M that my opinion of the match last night was,....superb football by the most skillful team seen on our screens for many many years. Sad to say, Man Utd were completely outclassed by a team who played....'total football' and displayed the 'beautiful game' as the Dutch used to play some years ago. |

No, I can't tell you how it works because it would be very unfair for your mother-in-law to be insulted. One of these days she will find out who the good people of this world really are. She will be when she finds out certain facts.

Ooooooo! Perish the thought,...no Larry, she's probably a very nice lady. It's all due to 'Bob the guzzler'. Once he's had a few, there's no telling what he comes up with. She probably treats him with gifts galore throughout the year, birthday, anniversary and Xmas, but he's too bloomin' sozzled to know it. Ho! Ho! Ho! |

Well,...I've been doing a spot of painting this week, but by-jingo I'm whacked out after wielding the brush for an hour or two. I'm afraid my 4 score and 7 is beginning to show it's ugly side. I think I'm going to have to do half an hour here and half an hour there, with a couple of days break in between. Ho! Ho!
Quiet on here, innit! All gone to the beach, eh. Not particularly computer weather though, is it! |

Why I said 'so-long' was because I was wondering if that saying was still used in Aberdare these days, when parting company, Bob. I don't hear it much in this part of the world. The usual saying here when parting company is... bye-bye or cheerio, or see you! Ho! Ho! Ho!
So, for now Bob I'll say...so-long M8. |

By the way Larry, I've had a few e-mails from Pauline this last couple of weeks. She's had a pretty rough time of it recently. She lost 2 of her 3 cats some time back, and to make matters worse she lost the 3rd one (Tinker) this week. The vets at Kilgetty sent him for an op' to Pembroke but after several checks etc etc he failed to survive. So Pauline is devastated with one thing and another, cos her laptop also came a cropper. She's had a new one I believe, and she hasn't been too good herself either. |

Ooooh! Just think,...what you could do with 25 million smackers, eh!
I could invite all our friends on our site,...to visit us here for a lovely booze-up,...with free Baileys and, and, and a crate of whatever liquid that our Bob fancies, and, and, and a real old nosh-up of whatever anyone fancies to eat. And after everyone recovers their senses, I would slip my hand inside my wallet and dish out gifts of,...say £10,000 to each and everyone. Now, wouldn't that be smashing, eh!
Now, I wonder how many of our clan would turn up for our little party here in my little hideaway, and how many of them would post a message to let me know that they were willing to come? Ho! Ho! Ho! |

No Bob m8, I'm sure Beacon Girl hasn't been taken up in a flying saucer because she's been posting on Aberdare online I don't post on there any more myself, but I popped in this morning because I was looking for some info and thought there might be a link on the site, and while I was there I spotted Beacon Girls name on some recent posts, so she's still around m8
It's a damn shame about Pauline's moggies, all of them gone in such a short time She must miss them something awful. Hope those hounds of hers are doing ok |

Good to hear from you TG,...it certifies that you haven't disappeared down one of those ditches which you are familiar with.
Glad to learn that BG hasn't been flying saucered away from Swindon.
I too posted on Aberdare Online a couple of years ago, as I got an e-mail from Andrew asking, would I like to post to help re-instate the site after he had re-organised it due to some hiccup they'd had there. So I posted about 3 times and I then stopped 'cos the general patter was not my cup of tea, so to speak.
Yeah, sad that Pauline has lost her felines,...all three of them in a short space of time. Regards to Fluffy,...I suppose you are still being ruled by her. Ho! Ho! Ho! |

Sorry to have missed chatting with you Larry m8, been out with the Fluffy one for most of the day and only just got home.
Don't think I've got any problems with BO myself, but I might smell a bit musty now and then from digging around in all those old bones
LOL
And Bob, to put your mind at rest, no I am NOT thinking of signing up to Aol again. The only reason I went there is because some of my mates are thinking of going to the Aberdare Park road races, and I remembered there used to be a link on the site with all the details, dates etc. Are you satisfied now you kow |

That is one of my favourites. And, boys and girls,...that'll be the day when any one of those 'so called 'Britain's got Talent' hopefuls can put a song over like Matt,...then and only then will they have found a talent, at long last!
I'm expecting to see Bob on Britain's got Talent soon. How about it M8! You are boasting that you've got a bass voice, so let's be 'aving you M8. Ho! Ho! Ho! You'll have to sober up first, you old guzzler. Your mother-in-law would love it. |

TG, Liz and me travelled a bit in your county on Tuesday this week. We did a coach trip to Moreton-in-Marsh, and had a good day. One thing is for sure M8,...England's green and pleasant land looked super-duper,...the Cotswolds looked immaculate. The farming community don't half look after their territory around your area. |

Ooooooh! Boiling hot today, innit. It's expected to be around the 90F next week, so my advice is,...don't spend more than 5 minutes in direct sunshine....'cos I'm very concerned for all my friends on here,..don't see them very often but I'm still attached to the old devils.
It's about bloomin' time RD turned up,...or perhaps Rover would drop us a line to let us know if the old guzzler is sober enough to chat. Ho! Ho! Ho!
Larry, Judging by the weather,...it could very well be that we'll be whisked away again tomorrow, so I don't yet know whether I have to say 'sorry' again. |

Yeah, we did have a stormy night Larry, lightning and thunder and rain, but not a lot of rain, and the thunder was a long 90 seconds after the flash so it must have been a long way from here. |

I think I can tell you how far way from you that thunderstorm was Fussy; roughly 31 and a bit miles as the crow flies - in other words, directly on top of me !!! And yes, it certainly was LOUD The lightning flashes and the claps of thunder were almost simultaneous, which tells you how close it was, and it really was DEFEANING. Couldn't hear the TV at all, and couldn't see it most of the time either as the electricity went off about five times. And it was a very long storm too, it went on for hours. A couple of times it eased off and I thought it had moved away, but then back it would come as loud as ever.
I would have sat back and enjoyed it myself as I love a good thunderstorm, but poor Sophie was petrified. She was shaking like a jelly and running round the room knocking things over, then throwing herself at the door so hard that the booms added to the general row. And why she wanted to go out through the door I really don't know, she didn't seem to realise that it would be even worse outside. I tried to calm her down but nothing worked. I tried sympathising with her, no good. I tried being firm with her and telling her not to be silly, no good either, she was like someody demented. It's odd really, because Sophie is usually the calm one, it's Sadie who's highly-strung, she always makes more noise than Sophie and gets over-excited about things, but when it comes to thunderstorms it's a role-reversal; then it's Sophie who gets hysterical while Sadie hardly even seems to notice (apart from barking at the louder bangs, but that's not fear -- she barks if I put my teaspoon down in my saucer a bit too hard, I think she just likes the sound of her own voice. LOL )
I'm going to Withybush tomorrow for another dose of treatment. They're not giving me a full transfusion this time, I'm getting something called an Iron Infusion. Whatever it is I hope it helps because I've got no energy at all at the moment, I can't do anything. I'll start off on some job but affter a few minutes I'll have to sit down for a rest, then the next thing I know I wake up to find it's hours later and I've missed the programmes I wanted to watch on TV and missed mealtimes into the bargain I'm eating at some funny old times of day lately, and so are the poor Dogs. (Not that they're all that bothered, as long as they get fed eventually they don't care if it's 4'o'clock in the afternoon or 4'o'clock in the morning )
Well I'm going for a spot of grub now and then I'll have to wash my hair and have a bath ready for an early start tomporrow (Hope I don't nod of in the middle of doing that and drown ! ) |

Oooooh, you had a noisy storm the other night then. Must have been frightening for S and S. And I bet Larry felt a bit of a bump in the caravan too. Wish you well for tomorrow at Withybush,...hope it'll turn out to be nothing more than an aura of smiles throughout. Ho! Ho!
I could kill this ruddy broadband. I typed about 10 lines (mainly to Bob) just before lunchtime today, and when I clicked your post a few minutes ago I expected to see it on here, but it's not on,...and I just realised what must have happened. When I clicked Post, it took ages to activate, and just then Liz called me for lunch so I just left it and went downstairs. Now I realise what happened...While I was having a cuppa this b***** broadband cut out, because it wasn't on when I came up here a few minutes ago. It must have cut out moments before the post activated.

I suspect that anywhere with beer would be utopia to our Bob he'd probably think a rubbish dump was heaven as long they had a good supply of Guiness or whatever his favourite tipple is, Lol |

Gee whizz! It's been emptying down today,...and it's a bit cooler as well. I don't think we will have any more of that heatwave kind of weather from now on. Looking back in time I seem to recollect that once we've had a couple of weeks in the high 80s in mid summer, we then tend to gradually feel the slight onset of Autumn lurking around the corner. I don't ever recall us having two months say, of blistering heat,...more often than not it's only threatened and then died out, before you can wink we are running for our sweaters and long-johns. |

Larry, I'll try my best to be Man Sunday soon, but the trouble is...I am bossed about by a couple of females see, so I daren't argue or disagree 'cos they are quite likely to beat me up, or even ,...threaten to cut my supplies of Baileys, Ooooooh! that would be unthinkable. Ho! Ho!
Seriously though, it bothers me that not ONE of the rest of our gang on here would at least be on site now and again to answer your posts.

Well folks, judging by the present weather we are experiencing, I think we are going to get a dishful of early autumn sooner than we think,...that's my forecast, for what its worth. Sorry if my forecasting hurts those of you who gobble up teeming hot sunny summer days. I'm a good forecaster, I am!!! |

I've sort of got used to talking to myself now Fussy m8. Yes, it WOULD be a nice change to see SOMEBODY else in here one sunday, but on the other hand the shock might be too much for my nervous system, I might keel over with a heart attack or summat, Lol |

Ooooooh! Don't keel over Larry,...put up with it for as long as you can, 'cos things might change for the good soon,...perhaps I'll escape the clutches of my brood, then at least you'll have one of us to chat to on a Sunday. Where is BG, and Bob and The Gravedigger and Mrs Gemini and Pauline on a Sunday, I wonder?....Perhaps they all take 40 winks around about the time you are posting. |

What I'd like to know is,....what on earth has your poor mother-in-law done to deserve such treatment. It's bloomin' heartbreaking, and I am going to do my very best to have a chat with her,...soon. The trouble is, I'm afraid to travel on a bus these days, in case someone sneezes. |

Yabba Dabba Doo! I'm so glad I caught you in time Larry. We were ambushed this afternoon at 1.30 and I warned them that I must be back by 4.00, but the little beggars are hard of hearing, so I was sweating a bit like, so I threatened them that they wouldn't have any more birthday presents if they didn't hurry-up. Hope I'm not being too nosey like, but wherabouts do you 'hang your jacket' these days. I'm guessing that you hang around the Kidwelly Burry Port districts. Am I right, or near right, cos when I am in the car on our way to Newcastle Emlyn I shout out your name as We pass that area, and my family think I'm off my rocker. |

Well, it was worth climbing up these 32 b***** steps of these stairs, to have a quick word Larry. Gawd knows where the rest of our clan are these days. It's a pity really cos we were such a happy lot. Anyway, I know you have to be on your way any minute now Larry, so it's been great having a short natter M8.

BG,Moonraker,
I'm lonely,.....and the football season is starting and I haven't got anyone to talk to about Torres and and and and Lampard, and and and Tevez, and and and Arshavin, and and Gibbs and all the other little Gibbsys, and all the other millionaires who kick a bag of wind around each week. So how about calling here after you've done your shopping,...I promise to pour you a double Baileys each time you visit. Now, that's a deal you can't possibly refuse. |
