And now there's a perishing heatwave in Europe. 107 degrees in Hungary, and 104 in Romania, and many countries crying out for water. Pity we couldn't ship our floods out to them. The bloomin' weather is whacky, innit!

Quiet, innit!
Oooooh, just heard the ITV news as I type. Gloucester and surrounding areas still badly flooded, and around the Oxfordshire area as well. I wonder how TG is coping!

We're ok here Fussy we're just this side of the affected areas. It would have been a different story if this had happened a couple of years ago before we moved though, back then we'd have been right in the middle of it |

Oooooh! I'm so glad you avoided the flooding TG. I feel so sorry for all the folk who've been caught in this horrendous disaster,... because let's not forget,...a disaster it certainly is. We who have not had to experience this, can not begin to comprehend what these poor people have to cope with. The young, fit and healthy will overcome the daunting obstacles in time,...but it must be heartbreaking for the folk who are ill, especially the elderly. It must be one hell of a setback for them. So, it was a lucky move you made a couple of years ago then TG. Good for you M8.

'ow're iw doin Fussy?
Well,...I can only describe it as bloomin' frightening, 'cos apart from a few words from The Gravedigger I've been on my tod all week, and now and again this funny sound of a guy giving a few slow howls of laughter comes from my speakers, Huuuuuh, Huuuh, Huuuh. I wonder if it's some clever boy in AOL, 'cos last year there was a female voice which came on at odd times and she used to say...'You are not alo-o-o-o-ne.' Ho! Ho! Ho! I'm scared to death! |

Larry, Don't miss this today M8. Liz has cooked it specially for you. 3 medium size potatoes, firstly boiled,...then sliced in half and placed in the hot oven till they were slightly burnt with a nice crispy coating. Then placed on a hot dinner plate along with some peas, carrots, brussel's sprouts and a chunk of tender Welsh beef, Yorkshire pud' mint sauce, then some nice hot dark brown gravy. Also a spoonful of apple sauce on the edge of the plate, 'cos if you are anything like us two you'd eat apple sauce with any bloomin' meal. Ho! Ho! You've also got a glass of Cranberry juice, and to finish off...some apple tart and custard, and off course a choice of tea or coffee. Get stuck into it Larry. Ho! Ho! Ho!

If it's cold by the time you get here,...stick it in the microwave!

'ow're iw doin Fussy? Not too good I'm afraid. Wossa matta then? Would you believe it,...my 14 inch tele that I've got up here in my nook, has had a fit. It suddenly decided to throw a blank screen, and nothing I do will revive the little b****r, so I only hope now that one of my grandsons will pop in sometime, 'cos he was a Sony engineer and he knows a bit about the antics of tele's that conk out. The end of this month and we're into September,...with the early signs of Autumn around the corner. I love the Autumn 'cos I like the beautiful colours of the leaves,...that lovely orangy red. Then Christmas,....more Baileys! Ho! Ho! Ho!

'ow're iw doin Fussy? Well, fairish like! One thing bothers me, and I don't know why. I can't fathom out why millions of people get a kick out of watching TV soap programmes. What is it that entices a person to sit in front of a tele' and watch a non-stop deluge of arguments, yelling, shouting, swearing, threatening, man-handling, and physical attacks on both sexes? What on earth do people get out of it? 'Cos it's all make-believe, false, unreal, untrue,...all bloomin' made up for the sole purpose of making more perishing millionaires than there are already.
Ho! Ho! Ho! It's all due to this loneliness on here see. I've got to have something to grumble about.

Well! That's done it!!! The English trounce the Welsh 62-5 at Twickenham today. That's the biggest ever thrashing that I can ever remember. What on earth were they playing,...cricket?
I'm off to drown my sorrows,...with a couple of Baileys, and I'm quite likely to utter a few uncomplimentary swear words as well.

Well, I did warn you all a few years ago, that my ultra special treatment at the first signs of a cold or flu,...was half a cupful of a fairly hot honey and lemon mixture: 1 Tablespoon Honey, the juice of half a lemon and add hot water to make about half a cupful of an unbelievable cure. Scientists have now proved beyond all doubt that the above has unquestionable properties to stop the dreaded cold getting too bad. So,...don't say I didn't warn you. And this advice is FREE mun, I'm not going to charge you a penny for it.
Ho! Ho! Ho! That busy little BEE is priceless, no kidding!

I'm off to do some odd jobs now, but before I do, I must tell you about my feathered friends. About a year ago there wasn't a sparrow to be seen in my little patch here, and I thought they might be going extinct. But these last few months they've suddenly returned and now each day they swarm all over the place, scoffing all the seeds and crushed peanuts that I put out for them. And even now they are picking up twigs and feathers and nesting in the eaves of our house here, in the same spot as they have been for donkey's years. It's quite a sight to see the baby sparrows sitting on our larch fencing outside our side door. They are too young yet to spot danger, so about half a dozen of them perch there motionless while I creep up to within 5 feet of them to take a few snaps, and they don't move an inch.

I'm back and fighting fit again TG, but not fit enough to wield a spade like you M8. I can manage a bit of light carpentry,...like fitting locks on doors, fitting skirting boards, and sawing a piece of 3x2, but, as for wielding a spade oh no! Those days are gone for ever,...so I would be of no use to you whatsoever M8. Ho! Ho! Ho!

Glad the headaches gone Fussy
I was worried last night, tried to get into the site for over 2 hours but all I kept getting was 'No page to display', I was afraid the site had closed down so I'm very relieved to see it back again today
I'm starting to feel a bit too old for all that digging myself Fussy m8, I'm thinking of geting myself a rotovator (Then all those bodies really would be turning over in their graves ! LOL ) |

Oooooh! No, you can't use a rotovator TG, 'cos that would wake up the whole community, and you'd be in dire trouble M8. Ho! Ho!
Been a cracking good day here today, but there's a warning about next Tuesday folks. Heavy rain and 60mph gales, so if it's going to be that windy even a brolly will be useless, so get your sou-westers out.
Dead as a door nail on here, innit!

Good grief! It's Aug the 15th, doesn't time fly. In another 8 weeks I'll be getting the old flu jab again,...and I'll be 8 bloomin' weeks older. Ho! Ho! Ho! Know what? I detect a little cold tinge in the air today, and that's the first time since March, I had to roll my sleeves down 'cos there was a distinct little bite in the air coming through my open window here, in my little nook 2 floors up.
Ooooooh! Quiet on here, innit! It's teatime so I'll buzz off for a cuppa and one of Liz's home-made pasties. Yum yum! |

I dunno about it being the end of Summer Fussy m8, I'm still waiting for the beginning. So far all we seem to have had is one very long winter I'm starting to think we might be heading for the end of the world just like old Nostradamus predicted back in whenever it was he was around. He said it would happen at the end of the 20th century but maybe he was a few years out in his calculations and it's coming to an end a few years later than he said it would |

Ho! Ho!...I'm the Welsh Nostradamus, TG. I predict that Bob will keep on blaming his mother-in-law for interfeering in his drinking habits,...for the next 50 years.
And I predict that you TG, will be knackered well before you become a pensioner.
And I also predict that Larry will be well and truly knackered before he reaches 65,...so I suggest that you both seek lighter duties as soon as possible.....Simple jobs, like a rent collector, or a parking attendant. Ho! Ho! Ho! |

Hold it still now, 'cos I can't afford to spill it. Here's a double Baileys for 'iw M8...blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb. Sip it slowwwwwwwly now, make it last a half hour. Not a soul to be seen anywhere!
'ow're iw doin Fussy? Not too baaaad like, you know! I've been busy doing some odd jobs around the house. Been sealing the roof of my shed at the back of our house, it's been letting a trickle of water in recently,...so sorted that little problem in no time. Got to get little jobs done now, before the old winter sets in. Good grief, in another 7 weeks we'll be getting the old flu jab again. Doesn't time fly these days,...it didn't fly in my young days in the 30s 'cos there was no TV, so you never wasted your life away watching a lot of make-believe nonsense,...says he, who never misses a showing of Heartbeat, nor Match of the Day. Ho! Ho! Ho!
Well, think I'll push off now for early suppies.
BTW, where's that beer-boy Bob. His bloomin' computer is fixed now, but he's not to be seen anywhere,...probably blame his absence on his mother-in-law again. |

Yeah, you're right TG, he's often on one of those festivals. The next time he's on one in The Mumbles I'm going to invite him to call here and spend the week-end with us,...'cos it'll give me the opportunity to wean him off the beer, and change his habits by supplying him with Baileys, Baileys, Baileys till he realizes how foolish he's been all these years. Well a little bird told me that CAMRA has a beer festival tent this weekend at the Moorgreen Country Show near Nottingham (or to be accurate it was a Lamb that told me, I've got relations all over the place ) It's on from the 25th to the 27th so he might have gone there, though I'm not sure he could find his way to Nottingham in his usual state (and after spending 3 days there he definately would'nt be able to find his way back!! LOL ) |

Yeah, this site can play funny tricks on times Larry. It played one hell of a funny do-da last May/June, I thought at that time that the old site had gone for ever. But, by a stroke of luck it managed to tick over and we were able to post again. I really thought we had, had our chips at the time. I don't know about you Larry, but I would miss this little site if it happened to pack-in,...even though we are only a handful of buddies.

Quiet on here, as usual! But I've got a good excuse for not posting much this last week. I've been busy doing odd jobs, before the weather changes. And a hell of a lot of my time has been taken up...transferring film and pictures from my camcorder and old tapes, to DVDs. Ooooooh, it was quite a task because we had old tapes of the birthdays of all the family for bloomin' donkeys' years, and a few weddings as well, so it's been quite a job sorting it all out.
Where's that chap named Bob, I wonder? I bet he's on a blinkin' beer festival. |

Damn it all! I had my tea at 4 o'clock, and then sat on the settee and fell fast asleep till a few minutes ago. Good job I woke up when I did, otherwise Larry would have missed what I'm just about to pour into his glass. No,...it's not the usual Larry, I'm out of stock at the moment. It's a tot of Sherry,... bleep, bleep, bleep, bleep, bleep, bleep, bleep, bleep. Did you notice the sharper sound as it lands in the glass? 's not the same sound as the old Baileys, is it! Still, it will keep your knees warm nevertheless. Ho! Ho! Ho!

YAB A DAB A DOO! I had a bit of a fright over the week-end folks. After switching this box on, I was greeted with a blue screen and a 'Windows' message telling me that a crucial thread had suddenly existed in my PC and could damage the 'works,' so it advised me to check any recent software or hardware that I had installed, and to get in touch with the manufacturer for any updates that may be needed to rectify things. Well, I haven't installed ANY bloomin' software for a year at least. So I was given the option of switching on in SAFE mode, which is what I did. Then I decided to use System Restore and start from a date back in July, and things have been OK since. Just thought I'd let you all know,...just in case any of you are confronted with the horrible Blue screen which stops you from starting your computer in the normal way,...in other words 'you've had your chips.'
Well, I'm hoping things will be OK from now on anyway???

Still, as long as the old site is running, without hiccups, I'll be as happy as the Robin in my garden this afternoon,...when I threw him a few seeds and some crushed peanuts. I've got to crush the peanuts 'cos some batches of peanuts are so hard that the poor birds would never be able to break into them. Got a tip for you. The best peanuts are the ones that are almost round and with loose husks. The small flat oval types are generally hard and need a few thumps with a hammer, to crush them a bit so that the sparrows and robins can enjoy a feed.
Ho! Ho! Ho! I spoil them, aye.

If our Bob doesn't turn up here soon, I'm going to use my bus-pass to make the trip to Aberdare, and look for him. Someone there will be able to tell me where to find him, 'cos he's not a Jones, a Davies, a Lewis or a Griffiths, or a Evans or a Thomas, or a Morgan, so you can bet your bottom dollar that I'll find him. Just you wait!
Ho! Ho! Ho! And maybe I'll be able to have a word with his mother-in-law.

Ugh! That bloomin' 'Windows' blue screen popped up again a few minutes ago, with a message that it found a snag which could cause problems to my PC. So, if you don't hear from me for a while,...you'll know why.

Yeah, that's a hell of a lot of 'likes and dislikes' innit! 600 pages of do's and dont's.....I MUST be a 'Fussy' boy, eh! 'scuse the pun. No, I haven't made it to Aberdare yet, but if he doesn't turn up on here soon, I WILL use my bus pass and seek him out,...the old boozer! He's not getting away with this continued absence,...who does he think he is, cheeky devil?

Fingers crossed! Haven't seen that 'Windows' blue screen again,...not so far anyway. Ooooooh, I hate the sight of it, 'cos when you do as it tells you,...you don't seem to get to the crux of the problem, and it becomes an endless clicking this and clicking that. And trying to get some reasonable answer to the thing from the 'so called' Technical Assistant is,...wishful thinking. And the most annoying thing of all, is the fact that the cause of the problem was due to the bloomin' manufacturer not installing the necessary updates properly in the first place. And they admit it! All their bloomin' fault!!! If they were here in my little pad,...I'd plant 2 or 3 senna pods in their tea....That would get them moving, eh!!! Ugh! |

Would be much better if Pauline, crazynance, Bob, Larry, TG & Fluffy, Beacon Girl & Moonraker, Princess Di, Big Brother & Gemini, Murtle, Vicky, Parrot Face, Andy Pandy and Mrs Gemini would ALL suddenly turn up, or at least some of them. Then I would open my 1 litre bottle of Baileys, and have them all sipping in no time. Ho! Ho! Ho! |

It's sickening to watch...Canada leading Wales by 17 points to 9. Oooooooh, just as I speak,...it's now 17 - 16, but I've never ever seen such a pathetic Welsh rugby side, they are slow-thinking and the ball handling and passing is unbelievably bad. They haven't a snowball's chance in hell to win the World Cup. They may eventually win this argument with Canada, but I still think it's a weak Welsh team, making mistakes galore, they are poor! I wonder what crazynance thinks? Ho! Ho! Ho!
The match has just ended, a win for us...but nothing to brag about. I bet Moonraker cried his eyes out!

Hi Fussy. Yes, it's MY turn on the computer. At last!
I finally figured out how to have the computer online and running my favourite radio station. Cool. I go to www.thewolf.ca and click on LIVE, and it plays the radio for me. I love it. This means I can have my radio station anywhere I'm online with speakers. Like .. work! It's amazing how less lonely work is with the radio.
My middlest, Girl 2, has just discovered the joys of driving: she has to pay the extra on the car insurance. It's only thirty-five dollars a month, but working part time at eight dollars an hour, it takes a long time to earn! And she has been invited to go on a Disney cruise package with her boyfriends family. THAT would set her back fifteen hundred dollars... so she's working out if she can do it. Apparently they are a lot of fun [ if you don't hate the idea of going to Florida, which I do ]
My oldest, Girl 1, is planning to move out next month! Exciting, I've called the locksmith! Just kidding.. sort of. haha. She is busy planning and budgeting as well.
Boyo, # 3, has broken up with his girlfriend. She is a lovely girl, but at least they are still 'messaging' each other. I think he's a bit gutted over it, but he's being the strong silent type.
more later... [ Hey! Some rotten Welsh team beat the Canadians! RATFINKS!] .. love Nan

Ho! Ho! Just clicked on to your Live radio station. 'Cool' innit! I don't quite know what you mean when you say...'it's my turn on the computer.' Who has the gall to deny our Nan use of the common computer? Sounds as if there's a strict rule of queueing in process!
35 dollars a month (I make that about £22) Yeah, the joys of driving can be devastating on the 'pocket.' Is Raine your middlest girl? She must take up driving because it can be soooooo useful in more ways than one can imagine. Apart from the joys of being able to drive, it can be very useful in times of distress. I can recall a few times in the past, reading about a young driver saving a life by turning up at the scene of an accident, and being able to assist in some way by taking an injured person directly to A&E. It happened to be a young cyclist who had been injured by a hit and run car 20 miles from the nearest town. It turned out that the young cyclist's life was saved, with just about 20 minutes to spare. An ambulance would not have had sufficient time to save the lad.
No,...no Florida for me,...however exciting it may be. 1500 dollars to see Michael Mouse,...I make that about £75. Ooooh! Expensive mouse! But of course it's a wonderful trip for youngsters I suppose.
Hope Boyo is not in tears over the 'temporary' break-up??????
Yeah, you are dead right the present Welsh team are slow thinking, and POOR. The Canadians certainly gave them a fright.

Where on earth is he?....I've a good mind to use my bus pass and go looking for 'im. Who does he think he is, deserting us like this!
Looks as if I'm going to have to make the journey,...won't take me long to find him,...unless he's in a flippin' helicopter somewhere. He can't escape from me,...I'd find him easily, 'cos as I said before he's not a Jones or a Davies. I'm sure it would only take me an hour to nab him. Ho! Ho! Ho!

Tell you what! I could eat a meal of hake and chips right now. Yum yum!
If Mrs Gemini's got a laptop PC with her on holiday, she could post us a message to let us know what she thinks of Llangain. The weather's been kind to her and her hubby, so far anyway.

Thank you Fussy for thinking of me!!! Apart from going away for a week, I've been busy baby-sitting, plus my PC broke down for a couple of weeks. So I've missed you all!! Llangain can go to the bottom of my list, as I don't think very much of it!! "Elm Rise Park", is certainly very nice, and the chalets are lovely, but there is nothing there!! Richard had to drive about 1-2 miles to get a morning paper, each day. Tesco's where we did some shopping, was about 5 miles away. I was very disappointed. Appreciated that we did go to Llangain nearly at the end of the season, but didn't expect everything to be closed. We even had a job to take our dogs on Llansteffan beach - which they both love, as there are certain dates dogs can't go on the beach!!! Thankfully, the weather was kind to us, and we were able to go to Pendine one day, which was lovely. We sat outside the pub and had lunch, and got sunburnt. We then went on to Amroth and Saundersfoot. The chalet we stayed in had everything you needed - too much really There was a TV in each bedroom, one in the living room and a small one in the kitchen. There were plenty of DVD's for our use, so we did watch a couple of films. Still next time I mention Llangain, head me off in another direction. The week before we went away, my son got married. The happy couple honeymooned in Perranporth, Cornwall and had a lovely time - weather was beautiful. I babysat for them the whole week , and was I glad that I was going away!!! Still both Richard and I had a good rest, but I will definitely try my hardest to go away earlier next year!! , and perhaps head for Devon or Dorset, or even Cornwall again!! I note from your messages Fussy that you are making a trip to Aberdare, using your bus-pass. There's not much in Aberdare either!! Noticing your messages, Fussy - you've been talking to yourself again, by the look of it! Where is everybody - I did think of Larry the Lamb one day when we set out for Tenby. Richard is always ill when we go to Tenby , so we changed our minds and went to Saundersfoot instead Well it's very late, so I'm heading off to bed Nite, nite all !!

Hey Fussy, Poor man, you're surrounded by women.. wait a minute.. should it Lucky Man, surrounded by women..
Actually, Raine is the eldest, then Kat, then James. Then Argo, but he's fluffy and wags a lot.
Kat is the driver. Raine says she doesn't have the depth perception for driving, which I think is a very mature decision.
I have to go back and get myself re-licensed. I will have to go through the whole probationary period again, as well.
Mrs. Gemini, we stayed in Devon and it was lovely. Mind you, we were in one of those everything included but lunch places, and the fence ensured that our children didn't run away or get run over, but I liked it. Our chalet didn't have a kitchen! No chance of cooking at all. :D |

Hi Crazynance - we've done Devon, Cornwall, Dorset and Norfolk, and as Richard is the only one to drive, I'm now trying to stay in Wales for our holidays, not for him to have to drive too far. We had a lovely week in Pendine two years ago, but when you book a caravan and tell them you have dogs, they don't actually give you the best caravans. I can quite understand why??, but I feel a bit discriminated!!! So when I saw the advert for chalets, I thought that would be better - and it was!! But it was far to way out of anywhere!! So next year, I will seriously be thinking of trying Devon, Cornwall or Dorset!!! If Richard will drive that far?? |

Ooooooooh! Yeah, aren't I lucky to be surrounded by women. Not many old codgers like me can boast to have so many gorgeous women within easy reach,...albeit for one, who happens to be far far away across the Atlantic. Not to worry, crazynance....there's not the slightest hope of me rowing a boat across that ocean. Ho! Ho! Ho!
Sorry to hear of your disappointment with Llangain, Mrs Gemini. Perhaps it was a bit late in the summer, but I can understand that it is a bit outlandish around that area. There are many other lovely areas near the beach in Pembrokeshire, like Fishguard, St Davids, and Newgale, to name a few. But there is more of a selection of holiday spots in Devon and Cornwall. Liz and me made numerous trips to that area back in the 60s and 70s. We would often do a tour of the south of England, starting with a drive to London, then on to Brighton, Worthing, Chichester, Chandler's Ford, Dorchester, and on to Cornwall and home via Newquay, Bude and Weston-Super-Mare. Mind, it was a pleasure to drive in those days, and we used to stay in B&Bs in various places over a period of about ten days, and sometimes we would kip in the car in lay-byes. Life was so much safer to travel in those times. Damn it all,...it's not safe to walk to the local shops these days.

Perhaps he's changed his hours of work. Anyway, I'm not going to leave him a tot of Baileys today, 'cos if I did leave it for him, and then he didn't turn up it would be a waste of delicious Irish Cream Whiskey wouldn't it, and I'd be out of pocket as well. Anyway, hope he's back next Sunday!

Well Fussy, I will definitely have to think of something more positive for next year!! I miss out so much on my Geography, and Rob was 100% and I know he would never have let us go to Llangain as we did. Still, we had a good rest and both Richard and myself needed it!!!
Going back quite a few years ago when I was working, Richard had been working away and I fancied a weekend away. The summer that year had been good to us, and Richard had even slept in the car whilst he was working - we had an estate car at the time. Eventually Richard gave in, and we made our way to Torquay. It was lovely, the weather was great and we were able to please ourselves as to where we went and what we did!! We went through quite a lot of places, just stopping for food and drink etc, and like you we slept in the car. We'd taken our duvet and pillows mind - I couldn't rough it! We turned into this car-park and just settled down for the night. We heard the police checking on us, but they went away without a word! I unfortunately suffered for it the following day, with an horrendous headache - and really I was glad to be heading for home But it often comes to mind about our little weekend - I did enjoy it I don't think I could do it now . As I mentioned before, Richard isn't fussed on driving very far these days. But, perhaps Devon or Dorset, whichever is the nearest, I might be able to coax him around by next year!! |

Ooooooh! You must coax Richard to take you both down to Devon and Cornwall next year. You can jog along quietly on the M5 to Exeter, and then aim for Looe [you can shake hands across the road there 'cos it's so narrow] and the strawberries and cream there is scrumptious. Ho! Ho! Then there's Mevagissey, Penzance and Land's End. What am I on about! You've probably been to those places anyway.
Liz and me have always thoroughly enjoyed ourselves down that area. We also have very close friends in Somerset, and we've spent many a lovely holiday in a beautiful village called Kingsdon,...not far from Wells and Shepton Mallet, and we too used to drift into Dorset which is another lovely part of the world. Off for some supper now. Toodlepip.

Helloooooo!....I whispered that quietly, that only a mouse could possibly hear it, 'cos it's so silent on here I wouldn't want to upset someone's tranquillity.
Where is Bob???...I shouted that at the top of my voice, so that he would hear me from Aberdare, and I'll remind him once more...if he doesn't turn up here soon, I WILL use my bus-pass and wander around the town looking for him. Well now, I felt quite chilly today, so I've donned my pullover for the first time since last April. So, sadly it looks like the end of the summer we were supposed to have had. Anyway, as long as we don't get one of those bloomin' hurricanes that have been buzzing around the world recently, we'll cope.

Yes it is cold now Fussy - It doesn't take very long for the weather to change. My old coat came out this morning for me to take the dogs for their walk. What with shoving my pockets with "poo bags", my coat was rather tight on me, and now winter is on the way, there is no way, I will be able to lose weight - again!!!! Now that the wedding is over and the holiday is done as well, I've nothing now to look forward to - no reason to lose weight! So I'll continue watching "Corrie" with my cup of tea and biscuits, at least until the Spring!!
Hope you are all OK out there - not many people here these days, Fussy?? - Do you think it's us?? - Don't answer that!!! |

Hello Mrs G. Oh dear! Your Smilies have disappeared without warning. But it doesn't necessarily mean that your PC has caught a cold. It was a fairly common glitch on our site a few years ago, for the Smilies to suddenly disappear for a day or so, and then 'bob's your uncle' they'd come back without as much as to say...sorry folks! Ho! Ho! Ho! Some of the 'goings on' on here are as unreliable as the weather. Oooooh! So you're another one who watches Corrie. I bet it's more than just Corrie....Liz, (my better half) is also a Corrie fan, and East Enders, and Emmerdale, and Neighbours...and If I dare utter a sound when she's absorbed with the 'goings on' in the above, all I get is...Shush! Ho! Ho! Ho! And I'm sitting there sipping a cuppa and eating my buttered Marie biscuit, minding my own business, and in a world of my own, and afraid to whisper to our cat. It's a bloomin' shame innit! Ho! Ho! Ho!

Ooooooh! It's a typical early Autumn, cold and rainy day here today. Reminds me of some of the dreary wet days that were fairly common in Cwmdare in my young days of.....long ago. But, for all that I loved every single minute of my place of birth, and I wouldn't have wanted any other place on earth...not for all the tea in china! I cherish the memories I have of the 20s/30s/40s.

BTW Mrs Gemini, Reading about that recent tragic air crash in Thailand reminded me of something. Am I right in thinking that Rob was familiar with that part of the world. I seem to remember him mentioning that area some time ago, or am I mistaken? You say he was pretty good at geography, so I was wondering if it was Rob who mentioned Phuket in Thailand. It was a couple of years ago when I saw it on here, and I feel sure it was Rob. Anyone mentioning that corner of the planet makes me keen to know more 'cos I spent almost 3 years in India/Burma during WWII, and flew over parts of Thailand once. But of course the Far East has changed dramatically since those days. Ho! Ho! Ho! You talking about losing weight, My Liz is counting the bloomin' calories every time she sits at the table. She told me last week...'I've lost a pound.' I said 'hold on' I'll put the flags out now! She's been counting the calories for months, so losing a pound was nothing to get excited about,...or was it? Ho! Ho! Ho! |

I've lost LOADS of pounds! but they all find me again! :(
haha!
I've also lost several pounds by paying with coins!

Latest news...Liz has lost another half a pound, so I'm just going to set the flags out. I wonder what will happen at Xmas time, after consuming all the delicasies that abound around that time? I'm trying to put on weight, but I'm getting nowhere. Ho! Ho! Ho! |

'ow're 'iw doin' Fussy? Well, sort of....I don't know really! I'm still wondering where some of our closest friends on here have suddenly disappeared to??? If only they popped in and said...'Hi there' and then signed off again, at least our little site would still have it's numbers to keep alive. I'm seriously considering signing up our cat...Katie, and a nearby friend's dog...Spot, to our forum....Do you think it's a good idea?
Ho! Ho! Ho! Think I'll have a tot of Baileys now.

I'm busy anyway so I'll get on with some odd jobs, there's always something to do.

's only me!
I detest all adverts on tele' 'cos a great number of them tell lies. Another thing that annoys me, is when a particular personality appears on screen and they only flash his or her's name in the lower half of the screen for a mere 3 seconds,...and with a name like Constantine Abercrombie de Vere Beauchamp Ranelagh Ffoulkes...what chance have you got to read the damn thing? Ho! Ho! Ho! These broadcasting companies are 'thick.'

I've come back as promised, but there's not a sign of life on here, so I think I'll buzz off and have a spot of supper.
I expect I'll pop in here again sometime! |

Well, I don't know what's to say! I keep popping in here and if I say something...I can't be sure that there's someone out there who will read it. So what's the point,...I might as well have a natter to myself, so I'll buzz off!

Hi Fussy Sorry not to have called in previously, still quite a busy lady!!! Grandchildren and a daughter in law!!! When will it end???
I noticed how you mentioned Rob, with a line about him going to Thailand. He worked as a travel agent, and one of the 'Education'trips he went on was to Thailand - he loved it. Bangkok and Phuket, where he stayed at some of the best hotels, and told me that after staying there, you never wanted to stay in a European place again!! Each day after the maid had changed the bed, there would be a little present left - even if it was only writing paper etc. I still look through the photos now - Rob is still very much missed! My father went to Burma too during WW2 - he was a nurse during the war. I'm not sure if it was when he was coming home from Burma on the ship, when he met this man. They became firm friends. It was only after they arrived home, that they found out they lived near each other. My mother and this man's wife were already friends. Cliff and my father, were friends for life!
I can't believe it's October, and I certainly can't believe our baby will be a year old on 1st. November. How time flies. Rob would have been 42 on 5th. November - Guy Fawkes night!!! Don't tell me our baby wasn't sent for a purpose!! She is absolutely a Winner - we all love her to pieces! She's the apple of her Daddy and Grandad's eye! Goodness help them when she's older!!!
Well I still need to diet - I'm getting bigger by the minute! I put the blame on the anti-depressants I take - well I have to blame someone. One of the side-effects is weight gain. Not being used to being so big, I get up each morning and can't believe it's me I'm seeing in the mirror I keep thinking that the weight will drop off me during the night - fat chance of that!!1
Christmas will come like any other time, and lo and behold it will be another year. Richard and I keep mentioning to each other, that we can't believe how old we are!! Richard will be 66 in January, and I'm 2 years younger than him!
Anyway Fussy - where is everyone these days - what exactly has happened I hope you and your lady wife are keeping well?
You mentioned that you lived in Cwmdare - my grandson's mother and grandparents used to live in King Street, before moving to Swindon about 14 years ago!!
I'm off now anyway, no-one else here I'll have a drop of your Baileys if you don't mind Fussy - it's a nice day, but quite cold!! Speak soon,

Mrs Gemini, I thought I was right,...it was Rob who had visited Phuket in Thailand. I wish I had chatted a lot more with him at the time, 'cos he would have had a lot to tell me about the changes in that part of the world since WWII. Oh yes, you must miss Rob so very much. It is a terrible loss, and at such a young age. I've often wondered if he was present with a group of our friends who arranged a get-together one evening at the Constitutional Club in Aberdare about 3 or 4 years ago. Liz and me couldn't make it, (we both had colds) so we decided to surprise them all by sending them a 1 litre bottle of Baileys. So on the morning of the party we phoned the Club to ask if they had 1 litre bottles of Baileys. The answer was no. But one of the staff offered to go to Tesco to get one for us, providing we sent a cheque to him personally the next day, which we did of course. So this chap also wrote a little note of 'best wishes from us' to go with the bottle. Ho! Ho! Ho! I remember that Monnraker and Beacon Girl and Mystery Lady, and I think Andrew was there as well and a few others, and as I said before I wonder if Rob was there as well. I did get an e-mail from Monnraker with a few pictures of the party a few days later, but...would you believe it...I lost all my e-mails a few weeks later when my PC was infected by a bloomin' virus. Fancy your dad meeting that chap on the boat back from Burma. It's a small world innit! Yes,I DO believe there was a purpose in the arrival of baby. I'll tell you a little story of what happened to me way back in the 60s.
Have to go now, Liz has just shouted...suppies is ready!

Hi Fussy
I don't know if Rob ever went to the Con Club, but I know he used to go with Aberdare On line Group, and enjoyed it as well!! I've kept his Christmas hat that he used to wear!! There's many a few things that I've kept of Rob's. I was thinking of putting them in a box and burying them somewhere, for it to be opened in years to come! I want his name to be remembered!!
I would like to hear your story Fussy - you can e-mail it to me if you like??
Well I'm trying to be busy - but not getting very far. My excuse for being on the PC now is, I'm waiting for the floor to dry!!!
Speak soon |

Helloooooooooo! Everybody. Just a short note to let you know that I've had good news today. Just received an e-mail from Bob to say that he has had a few problems with his computer. It had to go back for repair...a second time, and he's hoping to get Broadband going when he receives the modem. I'm off to watch the All Blacks and France do battle now. Toodlepip.

Oooooh! That rugby match last night was the best match I think I have a ever seen,...it was certainly the most exciting one. It's France to win the World Cup now,...it's a dead cert. What am I on about?...I don't think there's anyone on here who has any interest whatsoever in rugby.
No sign of Larry again.
Well, just before I nip off for a tot of Baileys, I'm going to give Mrs Gemini and Richard a few tots. So Mrs G, go get a couple of glasses quick, and hold them steady now. OK, here goes...blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb,...now the next glass. OK, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb. That's 2 double Baileys you've got there,...that would knock you back about 18 quid in a La-Di-Da pub in Penzance. Sip it slowwwwwwwwly now, smoooooooooth innit! Make it last about half an hour. Ho! Ho! Ho! I'm spoiling you, aye! |

I wonder how long this P.Office strike's going to take, before we get our mail delivered again? It can't half cause some problems, eh! Late birthdays, late payments for Visa cards, late this and late that. Can cause some naughty arguments.
