Ooooooh! Innit funny, not having any mail for almost a week!
But I've had several e-mails from firms telling me not to worry,... if I order anything it will be sent by courier.
I bet they're scared to death that they'll be bankrupt if they can't deliver the goods.

It's me! But who can I talk to?....can't see a soul anywhere!

Anyway, the postman is back, but for how long goodness only knows.
Life could be worse mind. I could have blinding toothache, or a bee-sting on the tip of my nose. Ugh!

Well, no-one to talk to, but we'll press on regardless.

No sign of Larry again.

Well, just before I nip off for a tot of Baileys, I'm going to give Mrs Gemini and Richard a few tots. So Mrs G, go get a couple of glasses quick, and hold them steady now. OK, here goes...blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb,...now the next glass. OK, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb. That's 2 double Baileys you've got there,...that would knock you back about 18 quid in a La-Di-Da pub in Penzance. Sip it slowwwwwwwwly now, smoooooooooth innit!
Make it last about half an hour.
Ho! Ho! Ho! I'm spoiling you, aye!

Thanks for the Baileys, Fussy - I sipped it really slowly, and could feel how warm it was, as it went down!!! Richard didn't want his, so I had his as well!!

Hope you are OK, as we are here!! The weather is now getting more like winter, and perhaps time that we should all start wearing warmer clothes. I don't like these dark mornings and evening, the days are over by 4.30pm when you close the curtains. No wonder so many people are emigrating to warmer climates, I think if I was younger I'd go too. Still, got to put up, with what we've got, so I'd better make do!!

Look after yourselves, speak soon

Glad you liked the Baileys Mrs.G, hope you didn't feel groggy after sipping 2 doubles. Ho! Ho! Ho!
Yeah, you're right the winter is closing in on us now, won't be long before it'll be dark around 4 o'clock in the afternoon. Funny you should mention about emigrating. I was quite shocked to read in the daily paper last week, that 190,000 had left this country during the last year,...unbelievable,....or believable?

BTW, Bob is still waiting to receive his modem so that he can connect to broadband. I don't doubt that the postal strike has delayed things a lot.
I wonder if Larry will visit us today?

I heard from Pauline yesterday. She hasn't been feeling too good of late. She's had another blood transfusion last Friday. The ambulance was a couple of hours late picking her up, which caused her having to stay in Withybush Hospital until about 11.45pm. She was quite stressed because she was so concerned for her animals, who had to be left alone at home all day. Knowing Pauline, her animals are of paramount importance, and she was determined to return to them, and seeing as the hospital could not provide transport at that time of night, she called a taxi,......cost her £40.
Nothing seems to run smoothly for her for some long period of time now. If only we lived within shouting distance of her, I'm sure we could help her, in more ways than one.

Well,...if I had the choice to make,...either a 1 litre bottle of 'you know what,' or sitting in front of the 'box' watching 30 muscle-bound males throwing an egg shaped bag of wind around a big area of grassed earth,...I would, without a shadow of doubt go for my little 1 litre bottle,...EVERY time.
There's nothing to beat the good old Irish Cream Whiskey.

Height....hite
Elephant..elifunt

And dozens more examples.

Mrs Gemini,
It suddenly dawned on me today,...you mentioned a few weeks ago that your grandson and grandparents lived in King St Cwmdare. I forgot to ask you at the time,...what were the names of the grandparents? It is quite possible that I might have known them, but I left Cwmdare in 1951, so the chances are highly unlikely. But, you never know!
I lost touch with a number of the older folk, because I didn't get home from the Far East till 1946.
Good grief,...that was 61 bloomin' years ago. I feel like an old man.

Well, whatever next?
Just read in the daily paper that youngsters aged 12 to 14 are going to be used as a group of 'informers' in districts where yobbish behaviour is more or less ruling the roost. It is intended that the youngsters will make notes of all misbehaviour by yobs, and report them to police.......Hope it works!

Yeah, You may be right there crazynance. I bet a great percentage of them can't read or bloomin' write. I've got a simple answer to all this yobbish behaviour, which is increasing out of all proportion.
Bring back conscription, and all yobs convicted and proved to be a menace should be put in the Army for a minimum 10 year stretch, including a long, long posting to the danger spots of the world.
That, I guarantee, would knock some sense into them.

Wouln't it be a wonderful revolutionary change to humanity, if some bright spark of a scientist came up with a concoction of some sort which would have a taming effect on every single individual on earth.
The concoction would have to be injected into EVERY single human on earth, and it would have an immediate effect of destroying all nasty temper, cruelty, ill feeling, hatred, arguments, bickering, moaning, grumbling, telling lies, and,....cruelty to defenceless animals and no wars. And no yobs!
Ho! Ho! Ho! Wishful thinking, eh!!!

And, just think, Bob would be on everlasting friendly terms with his mother-in- law.

Been a lovely day today, but I noticed a cold streak in the air though. Still, nice to have it dry innit.
As you can see by my little icon up above, I keep looking behind me to see if someone's creeping up on me, but no such luck, so I think I'll buzz off and have a Baileys, and maybe watch some lads kicking a bag of wind round a patch of grass.

I didn't put an SOS out for you Nan, 'cos I know you're a busy lass and can only sneak in here now and again. But it looks as if I'm going to set the bloodhounds on the rest of this lot down here.
I cannot understand why no one has even said BOO! and then scarpered.
I wouldn't mind one bit if any one of them nipped in and called me a miserable 'old git,' at least it would satisfy my curiosity as to the whereabouts of our 'escapees.'
I wonder if they've all logged off, and forgotten their password to log back on again. Never mind, I've had a few mobile e-mails from Bob, telling me about his problems with setting up his modem,...all his messages are in coded form,...or at least they look as if they're in code. 'wr 'iw doin' Fuss?
Just about coping I would say. 's like Bleak House on here, innit.
No sign of life atall. Enough to drive a man to drink!
It's difficult to think that our lot on here have decided to desert the ship. Surely, that cannot be the reason. I am more inclined to think that perhaps after having been logged off they had difficulty getting back on again, because of maybe password problems again.
Mind,...could be that they don't like the look of my face. Something's amiss anyway!
If everyone suddenly turned up on here before the end of this week, I would give up my Baileys till January.

My dog is here, trying to tell me that the toast I'm eating is actually 'Dog Toast'. That's why we call him the Diet Dog.

How are you, Fussy? Is all your Christmas shopping done? Not me. I just have the bits I've been picking up through the year.

I haven't been on lately, as I have been playing an online game with my son. It's called Runescape, and it's sort of a medieval type thing. Gives us a chance to sit together and talk.

Oh! Big news: I'm going to be a Great Auntie. My nephew and his girlfriend are pregnant. Must add Wool to the shopping list! ^_^

I'm back sooner than expected.
So you've already had a dose of snow, hail, sleet, rain and ice,....not unusual for Canada, eh!
You ask how I am,...fed up of talking to myself and my keyboard. It's like a ruddy morgue on here. Perhaps I should play your game of Runescape,...but where would I escape to?
So you're going to be a Great Auntie. You say your nephew and his girl friend are pregnant. Oooooooh! I doubt very much if your nephew would be able to achieve that little op,' but we all know what you mean Nan. Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho!
No word from Pauline. Hope she is OK. I have asked her to get in touch but no word so far.
Bob is struggling to get his bloomin' modem working so that he can use broadband, but no luck so far.
Take care. Hope all are well with you.

BTW, the word 'seven' still drifts through my mind, when posting to your part of the world. ???????

Guess where I've been to today?

I went to town,...using my free bus pass. Nothing unusual about that you might say,...but I hadn't been to town since this time last year.
So, it was an exciting journey for me, even though the distance is only just over a mile from my little pad here.
Ho! Ho! Ho!....I even went into Deb's and scoffed a super Pizza.
What a thrilling day we had, Liz and me.

But things could be worse, couldn't they,....one could lose a tenner, and find a rusty old safety-pin.

No sign of life on here again today, so far anyway! I'm wondering what kind of bait I could put on here to attract a human???

I've given the blighter a couple of aspirin, and I've stared at the screen with a savage look in my eyes, so I hope he's taken notice of my vicious looking glare and will try to behave himself.

Fussy Surprise surprise

At last I have managed to find this site again, there are hundreds of sites on Google called Chatonline.

Been off line for ages now ,computer went capute lost E.mail addresses and my list of favourites.

I have read back on this thread and it looks you have kept this site going single handed ,WELL DONE FUSSY.You must have felt very dispondent with no one to talk to.

What has happened to Pauline she seems to have vanished of the site altogether.

Looks like the site is at the end of its days with no posters to reply to you.

Hope you and Liz are both well Moonraker is not too well these days .

May pop in again from time to time to see if things pick up on here.
Cheerio for now.

YAB A DAB A DOO!

Well, I go to Bwllfa Tce!!! Lovely to hear from you BG, and good to know that you are OK,...but not happy to learn that Moonraker is not well. Hope he gets better soon.

As you can see I've been struggling to hold the fort on here for months and months. We had a nasty setback with the site ages ago now. It kind of 'crashed,' and I think nearly everybody had problems getting back on to post. Might have been password difficulties, but they eventually crept back in, but after a couple of months they disappeared again. So I'm steering the ship on my tod.

Pauline has not been atall well, she's had to make several visits to Withybush Hospital for treatment. She's very 'down' these days, and she hasn't posted for ages....Bob has had trouble getting broadband to work on his PC, and he hasn't posted for ages either. So everyone has disappeared into thin air. Ho! Ho! Ho!

A joke...for a laugh from Moonraker, to make him feel better.
Ask him...what do you call a blind Stag.

No idea. (no eye Deer)

Hello Fussy - Long time no speak!!! Sounds as though you are doing OK, and all alone too!!

Can't remember when I was on here last, I just haven't been in the mood for chatting - no offence to you Fussy!!!

Christmas was good this year thank goodness, that was mainly down to having children around us - and it was good to see them, enjoying themselves Christmas Day. There's not a day goes by that we don't think about Rob, but we have a beautiful grandaughter who helps us each day. Tilly is 14 months old now - just can't believe how quickly the time has gone by since she was born. I know Rob would have been thrilled with her, and would have made as much fuss of her as he did of our grandson - Adam.

I had an awful cold just before Christmas, and then Richard caught it. The only thing is, it went right onto Richard's chest, and it was bad too! He still coughs now and again, but has started taking a drop of whiskey before he goes to bed. Then I started having pains in my chest, which I thought was muscular. Having seen the doctor he told me there was still congestion from my cold, and to take paracetomol, but I also take a little drop of whiskey in hot milk most nights. and it is feeling better than what it was!!

I hope you and Liz are OK - It is sad that no one is around on here - what can we do to get more people on here??

Anyway, you look after yourself - hopefully will speak to you soon

Hi Mrs Gemini
I don't know if you remember me or not , I live in Swindon where your grandson Adam lived ,is he still up here.

Rob was very fond of him and use to always talk of him.
I met Rob at the Christmas party at the Marquis he was such a kind thoughtful person ,I will always remember him. I have the photos of that party with some of the old gang on.

Good to hear you had a nice Christmas with your family and that you have a lovely new grand daughter to spoil ,thats what all us grandmas do isn't it.
Sorry to hear you have had the nasty flu bug that is going around we have had it too and are still not over it yet. I think it hits you worse when you are older, we had the flu jab back in November but it did not seem to help.
Take care of Yourselves and hope to see you in here again soon.

Hope you enjoyed your Weekend away ,does us good to have a break from the normal day to day routine.

We were sorry to hear of Pauline being ill hope she is getting a bit better now ,it must be hard for her now she is on her own. It must have been hard for her having to leave her dogs and cats when she was in hospital ,I know they mean so much to her .
Shame she cannot get back on here and have a chat with us.

Oooooooooh! I'm in luck at last. Nice to hear from you Mrs Gemini.
Doesn't matter a hoot that you sometimes don't feel in the mood for chatting mun,...as long as you are OK, that's the main thing, innit! I've always said we all have other things to do in running our lives, and the reason I've been plodding on here is, to keep the old site running because I've been afraid that if no-one posted atall the thing would pack-in altogether, and I think that would be a shame.

Glad you had a nice Christmas. Yes, I often think about dear old Rob too. He would have doted on little Tilly as you say. Sorry that you and Richard had bad colds before Christmas, and it's a hell of a job to get rid of colds at this time of year, innit.....Listen to me now, any colds you have in the future, take a medium hot mixture of Honey and Lemon. I know it sounds like 'old hat' but believe me,..the bee's honey has immense qualities. I studied a book by a top American physician come scientist, on the amazing healing and other properties of the bee's honey,...it's unbelievable.

That's it for now,...don't forget to pop in again, when you can.
Hope Richard is better by now.

Hi BG,
Yeah, we had a nice break at one of our granddaughter's home. She fetched us and brought us back, and I was just thinking...a taxi there and back would probably have knocked us back about 100 smackers. So I always talk nice to our granddaughters, and our grandsons, and spoil them all. Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho! That's the way to get free trips see'

BTW, how's your 'better half', is he better? Poor dab!!! Back in the 30s, if anyone was a bit under the weather so to speak, everyone used to console him by saying...poor dab!

Yes, it is tough on Pauline, 'cos she always puts her pets first, so that makes things very awkward when she has to go for treatment. When she went for her first blood transfusion they told her that she'd be back early in the evening, but things didn't go to plan, and she had to stay overnight in the hospital. As you can imagine,...she was frantic, and since then she has been reluctant to go.

I'm off for tea now. See you again soon.

Oooooh! Seeing as it's quiet on here, I could apply for the job of manager of Newcastle Utd, couldn't I. I've got plenty of time to spare.
Moonraker could join me as my assistant,...or vice versa, I could be his assistant. Between us we would sort out the problems in no time.
Ho! Ho! Ho! Think of the money we would rake in, eh! We'd have our own private jets as well, and we would then be able to take trips to The Bwllfa, and land our jets on top of the Darran, and have a picnic there. BG and Liz would love that.

Hi Fussy
Yes it would be great to be rich and own a jet and be able to jet off anywhere we like in the world .Although I have never had much disire to go to any other part of the world ,quite happy to have the odd visit to the valleys and the south coast now and again.

The top off the Darren does not sound too appealing at the moment as its too darn cold . The weather here is pretty cold at the moment and we keep getting torrential rain on and off ,the garden is like a swamp.

Moonraker and I are getting over the flu slowly .Unfortunately Moonraker has a problem illness with his lungs so he will not improve a great deal.

BG,
I've often wondered how you have managed dealing with the torrential rain that you had last year, and the bloomin' rain that you are having at the moment. Gloucestershire and a few others had a heartbreaking time of it last year didn't they. I feel so sorry for all those people in the flatlands, the damage done to all those houses causes untold heartbreak. One gets the feeling that the property is never the same after all that deluge of water.
Is your home in a flat area, or are you on an incline?
Hope you are both feeling better as the days go by.
Liz and me had a vicious cold in the 2nd week of Dec 2006, Liz improved by about the following April, but believe it or not it took an old stager like me till last autumn to be back to normal.
Toodlepip for now.

BTW, tell your better-half that I think it's disgusting that a well known footballer nicknamed 'Old Sulk' has run up transfer fees totalling £85,000,000.

The floods all over the country are awful again feel so sorry for the people who are still living in caravans ,and now their houses are being flooded again.
There are a lot of areas in Swindon that are flooded again . We do live on the flat , on what use to be bog land many years ago.If we get any heavy rain our back garden is like a lake, there is an open green in front of our house which rises up about 4 feet above our garden to form a sort of hill,so all the water drains down to our garden .The back garden is lower than the front garden so it floods but yesterday even the front lawn and flower beds were awash with water .Today is a bright sunny day what a difference in two days.

Type in Covingham on Google earth and you may be able to see what the area is like ,there is an oblong shaped green area near the bottom of the screen we live above that in a row of terraced houses.

Oooooh!I typed in Covingham in Google, and I was surprised to see how much flooding there is in your area. It is a flat area isn't it.
I hope you don't have too much continuous rain, it's not so bad if you have a break between rainfalls.

I was going to have a Baileys, but I haven't got a drop left, 'cos I've had to share it with a few friends of mine. Good job I'm going to Tescos tomorrow.

Yes Fussy it is very flat around here ,the floods last July were awful ,we have never had the flood water come into the house just the garden has flooded in the past .But it was worrying when the front garden flooded for the first time this week .
The way the climate is changing we may well get flooded out one day .Better by some sand bags just in case.

Fussy the way you are giving away all your Baileys to your friends you should buy it by the case load save you having to go to Tescos all the time .

We are beginning to feel a bit better now .
We have been on the honey and lemon and the whiskey and hot milk before bed time and numerous other think which help to relieve some of the symptoms. It seems to go on for ever 2 of our daughter are into their third week of having it.

We seem to be stuck with headaches and coughs now .
It would help I think if the weather dried up a bit so we could get out and get some fresh air ,it is another wet and windy day here again.

Hope you and Liz are ok at present.

Thank you for your prayers Fussy.

We have to shake ourselves today as our daughter is taking us to the supermarket for a mass food shop, our fridge freezer and pantry are practically bare . We have not done a big shop since the week before Christmas.
No doubt the bank manager will have a blue fit when he sees how much we have spent .!!!!

Liz and me are in the middle of a discussion these last few days.
We are seriously thinking of trying to lessen our trips to the supermarket. We go every two weeks at the moment, and we are wondering if we can work out and organise it just to make a monthly visit.
We are sure it can be done, as long as there is enough space in the freezer to hold the meats/milk etc for us two for 1 month.

Hope you had a few bargains today, at the supermarket.

Where's Bob, and Larry, and The Gravedigger I wonder?

I wonder if they've emigrated? I see in the press that thousands are leaving this country every year for a life across the water. Worrying, innit!

We manage quite well to just do a big shop every 3 to 4 weeks.
We are lucky that we have a small covenience shop just at the end of our road where we can get fresh bread and milk or the odd things we run out of.
I hate the huge supermarkets so the less times I have to go there the better.
