Yeah, we've given it a lot of thought, and decided to do a monthly trip to Tesco, because we too have local shops only 100 yards from our front door. So, in an emergency we can just nip down the road for milk or bread, or anything for that matter.

Hope you are both feeling better. The damn cold seems to last forever these days. It took me almost 9 months to completely recover from the one I had just before Xmas 2006. Mind I am exagerating a bit, I WAS rid of the cold itself, but I didn't feel fully fit until last autumn.

More rain forecast I notice. Hope you don't get flooded.

Silly me, I was still on page 8 when I replied to yours.

Yes, as you say it would be nice to have the old gang back, but it doesn't look very promising. I've often wondered if some of the others had a problem getting logged back on after the site crashed last year.
Anyway, I'm living in hope that a few will sneak back in one day.

If you hear from Bob, tell him to get over to my website: there's a picture of his ideal computer! fofl.. www.crazynance.2cuk.co.uk its on the first Photographs page, 2nd down on the left. :D he'll love it!

Hi crazynance
It is good to see you on here again ,posters are very thin on the ground right now.
Hope all your family are well.

By the way belated congratulations on your wedding anniversary.

You make me jealous mentioning you have snow there we have not had a single flake in this area yet. I know it can make things very dangerous for motorists and pedestrians alike but it does look so beautiful when the countryside is covered with snow.

Well ater all the rain we have had this past few days I am glad to say we have had a beautiful sunny day ,I was sat in the lounge with no heating on and the sun through the window was burning my legs.

I even had a good old look around the garden to see what was what out there .I was amazed to see the daffodils ,they are about 5 inches tall and there are lots of flower buds on then already.
The rockery plants that don't usually flower until on into March are in flower now.It just shows what a mild winter we have had .

Looks like we may be in for a frosty night tonight though as the sky is quite clear now ,I have put the heating on too as I am now freezing .

Hi crazynance,
Yeah, can hear you loud and clear through all that snow. We haven't had a good snowfall for a couple of years, out here in the west.
It's all due to the Gower Peninsula,...we don't get heavy falls here.
Ooooooh! But it's bloomin' cold though.
Ah Ah! Visitors.
Must go...back later!

Ugh! I can't win, whichever way I turn these days.
I've got a little problem with the car,...the bloomin heater fan has packed-in, so I can't keep my windscreen clear from condensation. Probably a blinkin' fuse.
Then this article has it's funny moments,...some times a bloomin' blue screen pops up...with a bloomin' error message. Then I've got to restart the bloomin' thing in 'Safe mode'.

So, I'm fed-up!
Ho! Ho! Ho!

Oh dear Fussy! Sounds like you might be about to have serious trouble with your machine! Quick, make a back up disk, or ask a friend to help you, before you lose everything on it! We use to call that the Blue Screen of Death.. a peculiar Windows phenomenon.

We are getting some wild fluctuations in the weather. It floats around freezing and snows. Then it warms up and gets foggy, then freezes again. Then it drops to about 5 degrees Farenheit.. brrrrrrr! now THAT's frickin' chilly!

BG,
Tell M that I'm going to bet my Car and my PC that Wales will win at Twickenham on Saturday.
If he thinks I'm foolish,...then I will withdraw my bet, but he will have to be quick, and let me know before 1 o'clock on Saturday.

Had a word with M about the bet you are making on Saturdays game. He thinks it is too much of an unknown to bet on the first match of the series. With new coaches and new players coming into the squads it could go either way.
He did say that if you want rid of your car and PC, he will come and collect them.
LOL.

Tell him he's got company,...'cos I will have to plonk myself down in the lounge, because as sure as eggs are eggs, Liz will want to watch some bloomin' episode of Poirot, or Sherlock Holmes or one of that type of programme, in our living room.
Oooooh! Cold today, innit. The weather forecast is lousy for the week-end. You'll cope, as long as you are not flooded.

YAB A DAB A DOO!

At last M....They managed it, after a frightening 1st half.

Just think, if I HAD bet my car and my PC, I'd have 2 cars and 2 PCs tonight,...so in future I think I'll ignore your advice M.

Ho! Ho! Ho! Only joking M, but judging by the first half I thought it would have been a cricket score, and I expect you thought the same.

They'll be sinking the pints tonight.

Hope you are feeling better M8.

Fussy,
That must be one of the biggest turnarounds in the history of the 5/6 nations tournament.
As you say, at half time I was expecting a tremendous beating. What ever Gatlin said to them at half time he should bottle it and make a fortune.
Now if Scotland can beat France tomorrow we will have one hell of a tournament.
Feeling a little better thanks M8.

M,
I've got a feeling that the boys are not going to have things all their own way against the Scots.
The Scots looked a fair old side against the French. The 'froggies' didn't look all that confident. I think they're a side that CAN be beaten.
If our boys could win this Grand Slam, that would certainly lift the flag, eh!

You have done a great job of keeping this site going practically single handed, well done
May be it is time to take a break as it does not look like the site will ever be the same as it was,it seems silly just me and you talking to each other all the time ,there is only so much we can talk about.
Shame really as I have only just got my computer up and running again.Never mind I will look in from time to time to see if things have changed on here.

Hope you enjoyed the match yesterday another win for Wales.YIPPEE

Well,...I thought I could live without this lovely old site, but I feel so lonely without popping in. So Ive decided to post again, if only once in a while, just to keep in touch, 'cos if some of our old gang came back on here without me being aware, I would very much regret it. Thankfully however, crazynance and BG have kept in touch.

I also feel a loss at not being able to keep in touch with Pauline and Bob..... 6 or 7 years friendship is a long time,...to suddenly disappear into a mist.

If it means I will have to talk to myself most of the time,...so be it!

BG,
No, doesn't look too good, but we'll just have to pop in now and again and hope for the best.

I don't know how Pauline is feeling at the moment, it's about 4 months since I last heard from her,...she's had so many different e-mail addresses I don't quite know how to get in touch with her. The last time I heard from her she wasn't atall well, and was having to go back and fore to Withybush hospital for treatment. I've sent her e-mails a few times but have not received a reply, so I don't really know whether or not she is able to get on line, because she often had problems with her computer, as you know.

Tell M that I think the 'boys' will have one hell of a difficult game against the Paddys on Saturday, and I am not prepared to risk betting my 'half a crown' on them. Ho! Ho! Ho!

BG,
Forgot to tell you a few minutes ago. What do you think Liz and me did a couple of weeks back? I 'sold' our car to our daughter Pat. She and her husband have always had a car for some 30 odd years but recently they had given it to their youngest son to help him run his new business as a plumber. Their other son and their married daughter each have a car, so being that the youngest son had passed all his exams and had become a plumber they thought they'd help him start his future.
Liz and me were not aware of this by the way, as it had only taken place a few weeks ago. So, you can imagine the SHOCK when we phoned them last week to ask them if they would like to buy our car because we had decided to give up motoring. After the excitement cooled down, I said...we are giving it to you FREE, but if you would rather buy it then give us £1 and I will give you a receipt, so that you can prove that you bought a Nissan Sunny with just 42,000 mileage on the clock, and with full service history, and in unmarked condition. We had only used it for a trip back and fore to Tesco's for the last 9 years, it only did about 500 miles a year.
Mind, I do feel funny without the thing, because every day of the week I used to nip outside to check it over, because a lot of vandalising does take place these days as you well know, but luckily it never got touched.
Liz and me had decided some time ago to give up motoring, because we have bus passes anyway, and the parking problems are worsening by the week, and we can always take a trip by coach (and wave to you as we pass the Swindon exit on the M4.) Ho! Ho! Ho!

That is kind of you giving yoour car to your daughter for £1 if I had know you were getting rid of it I would have made a bid of £2 LOL ;-)

It is nice to try and help the youngster if and when we can , as we remember how hard it is to manage when you are young.

We hardly use our car these days , it has only done 26,000 miles in 9 years.
You should be better of without the car as you will save on Petrol ,Insurance and petrol as well.

M is looking forward to the match between Wales and Ireland ,Wales will have a tough game against them.

Well we live in hope and are keeping our fingers and toes crossed for a win for Wales. We shall see.

How are you getting on down there in Swansea with this rough weather we are all experiencing. We have hardly left the house this past few days as M finds it hard to breath in the windy weather.
We seem to get the worst of it in the night , can sleep for the wind and rain battering against the window.

BG,
Well!...I'm not kidding, I've been so ill last week. I must have picked up a nasty bug of some sort on Tuesday pm, because it affected me in so many different ways,....chest, stomach, headaches, joints, and no appetite and no desire atall to watch any television.

It was a struggle to watch the match on Saturday, so I taped it as well so I could watch another day, and I'm so glad I did because the boys did a terrific job. Tell M that I think that the man who deserves great credit as well as Warren is...Shaun Edwards. He has created such a strong Welsh defence, that even the classical French couldnt penetrate it. There was always a straight line of Red shirts right across the field for most of the time when the French had possession, and made it so difficult to break through.

Ooooh! I'm feeling so tired. I think it's going to take me a few weeks to get over this lot.
Still, I'll pop in here as often as I can.

Yeah BG, you are right,...old machinery tends to need fresh doses of polish, and a bit of oiling here and there 'cos it gets a little bit rickety, and shows a bit of rust when you don't expect it.
Still, I'm feeling a bit better than I was last week.

Glad you escaped that stormy weather we all had. I had a peep in on your district on Google Earth, and it looks pretty flat around your area. It must be a dreadful worry when the gales turn up, eh!

I'm tamping mad today, and b****y ashamed at the way we are treating the Gurkhas. They were the bravest of the brave in the Far East (and elsewhere) during WWII, alongside our brave men.

(I was interrupted there.)

It is disgusting that the people running this country, allow all kinds of immigrants - good or bad - to swarm all over the place, with benefits galore,...and have the audacity to reject the highly respected Gurkha.
B****y disgraceful!

I was feeling lonely on here anyway,..now it's lonelier still.

As soon as the avatars are back I shall put some great stories on here about Aberdare in the 30s/40s/50s. But without the avatars I feel as though I'm flogging a dead horse.

It is disgraceful the way they are treating the Gurkhas after all the did for this country ,typical of this government.
They are not treating our soldiers that are fighting abroad at the moment much better either.

Makes my blood boil.

hello!~ Thinking of you at lunch as the news flashed on about two Brits being killed in Af. How is everyone? I think Spring might actually be almost here. The snow pile on my driveway corner is only 1.5 feet high now. Down from 5 ft. whew! Soon we'll all be rushing to do our planting. AMEN.

Hello BG, and Hello crazynance,
Well,...I can only describe the last month as sheer mayhem. Nothing has gone in my favour. Everything has been flaming chaos day after day.
Not feeling in the best of health hasn't helped either. But this bloomin' ISP has been at it again with its so called updating its internet connection. More like downdating the damn thing. It was to take place on the 27th March, and sure enough we saw some engineers in our locality, and I somehow guessed that there were going to be some snags, and I was dead right. To start with we lost our home telephone - landline, - which cost us a pretty penny, 'cos we had to use our mobile, we didn't worry too much about that, BUT when I couldn't get a connection to broadband I had to phone the ISP Support, and that made my blood boil, because at the beginning of the call my mobile showed £18.35p.....I was only on the call for 7 minutes and when I checked the balance it had dropped to £9.82, and I still couldn't get connected. And so it went on and on...no phone, no internet. The connection kept on and off every few minutes.
Today, at last an engineer called and fixed our landline phone, but this thing only came on a few minutes ago.
I'd better post it now, in case it cuts out on me after me typing this lot.
Ugh!!!

Innit disgraceful,....paying all this money for broadband and nothing ever runs smoothly. There's always snags and faults,...you'd think that after 4 or 5 years of broadband the technical boys would have sorted things out by now.
Was it 90,000 people emigrated from this country last year. And the number seems to increase on times. Sad state of affairs, and many other aspects of life have deteriorated, especially the so-called law.
Political correctness, my foot! It's sickening to read that children of the age of 10/12 are known to threaten to report an adult who speaks harshly to them. What next,eh?
Yeah, you guessed it...I'm bloomin' fed-up.

Ho! Ho! Ho!....Could be worse I suppose,...I could have lost a £20 note and found a rusty old paper-clip.

Where's everybody?

I'm feeling lonely,.....honest!

I wish I could get in touch with Pauline, to ask her to bring back our avatars and a little bit of colour to this site.
I'll try one of her old e-mails, to see if that works???

If I don't succeed then I'm going to aim for Folly Farm and look for Larry.

The owner of a tiny Reliant Robin pulled into a garage and said, 'a quarter of a pint of petrol and a teaspoon of oil, please'

'Certainly sir' said the attendant. 'While you're here, would you like me to cough into the tyres?'

Hi Fussy

Thank you for that laugh ,I needed it after the traumatic 9 days we have just had.
Moonraker was rushed into hospital on March 31 with a suspected heart attack .He had gone to the doctor for a check up as he had not been feeling well ,and he collapsed in the doctors surgery , the doctor sent for the ambulance with blue lights flashing .
He was pretty poorly on Tuesday as they had put him straight on to oxygen not knowing he had a lung complaint and could not expel the bad Oxides from his lungs and it was poisoning him .Lucky they realised in time and put him on a different machine.

Anyway to cut a long story short they found out he has angina and diabetes .
He came home yesterday and is now on more medication than he was on before.
He says he feels a lot better now than he was before he went in ,but gets very tired .

Hope you and Liz are well and you are feeling better than you did a few weeks ago.

Hi BG,
I'm fed-up with this bloomin' AOL. I typed about 8 lines to you on here last night and then the damn thing cut me off, and I couldn't get back on till about an hour ago.

So glad that M is feeling better, and that the trip to Oxford will be beneficial to him,...fingers crossed!

Yes, I got your e-mail OK. I was glad because I found out later that NTL was no more and it made me think you wouldn't get my e-mail to you, but then I found that it had merged with Virgin.

What made you think that TG was on here? I had'nt noticed any sign of him myself.

Here's the good news about Pauline.....Her probate has been finalised, so she hopes to be back on here when BT sorts things out for her,...maybe within a week.

Wish M well, from us both.
Take care.

That is good news about Pauline ,bet she is glad everything is now sorted.
It will be good to see her back on here at last.

I spotted TG 's name on here where it says "Members online" it was on there again yesterday ,he is lurking around so he may be back soon too.:-)

Yes NTL were taken over by Virgin and as usual they bumped the price up after a few weeks of taking over, seems we get conned more and more these days. :-(

P.S
Belated birthday wishes Fussy ,hope you had a nice day.Sorry we forgot on the day.

BG,
I'm seriously thinking of terminating AOL. Practically every day now I'm being cut off several times,...sometimes for as long as a couple of hours.
As you've got cable broadband I'm wondering if you get disconnected without warning,...if so, how often, and for how long. I was thinking of trying Virgin Media, because I've had a bellyful of this lot now.

Hope M is improving each day. Tell him....I think Joe Calzaghe should pack it in now,...while he's fit and well. I don't think he should tangle with Mr Roy Jones. Ho! Ho! Ho!

Fussy we do not have any problems with Virgin Media at all ,can't remember ever being cut of by them.
We pay £32 a month for TV ,Broadband and our phone line which I don't think is too bad .

M thinks Joe Calzaghe should carry on boxing and they should bring his next fight to to the millenium stadium in Cardiff.

I think they should ban boxing altogether it is a very cruel sport.

M is still progressing well not so tired these days . He still has not got his appointment to go to Oxford I suppose he has to be on the medication for so long to see if is working before they do anything else.

Oh, I wanted to tell you that I just got digital phone service. So now the same company does my high speed internet, 70 channels of cable and the phone, which includes all my calls in Canada and the US. Unfortunately, I have to plan ahead to call UK, since I need a calling card for that. But it's not a serious hardship. Oh, And I'm saving 35 dollars a month and getting more channels. That's right. I can phone my brothers out west for free! yay! no excuse now ;)

M is getting on OK at the moment , it was quite a shock when he was rushed into hospital at the end of March .

It is worth having a look at Virgin media it may not be the cheapest ,but when they took over NTL we could not be bothered to look around for any others so just stuck with them.

M is sat infront of the Tv watching the Football match at the moment , I think Liverpool are leading .

£900 my goodness how can people afford that sort of money.

No chance of M going to Moscow ,he has just spent a years pocket money on a mobility scooter so he can scoot up and down to the shop and get his paper ,he is like a child with a new toy.
He is not too bad at the moment but he still gets very tired , no sign of an appointment in Oxford yet, typical of the NHS.

That case in Austria is quite shocking ,he needs locking up and the key throwing away ,there are some evil people in this world.

Which only goes to show you can have a nasty accident in your car even when it's stationary.

A decrepit old Morris Minor pulled up outside a pub on a village green one afternoon. It was covered with dents and scratches, the paintwork was worn, the tyres almost completely bald, and and steam was pouring out of the radiator.
The driver got out and said to a local chap sitting ouside the pub,...Would you mind keeping an eye on my car while I make a phone call?
The local chap agreed and when the motorist returned five minutes later, he said, that'll be £5.
What! exclaimed the motorist. £5 just for looking after my car for a few minutes!
It wasn't the time, said the local chap. It was the embarrasment.
Everyone thought the car was mine!

I'm all alone! So I think I'll have a tot of,...you know what!

And while I'm at it, here's another joke.

A fellow had been persuaded by his girlfriend to give her driving lessons. When she got into his car for the first time, she said, this little mirror up here isn't set right.
Oh, I think it is, said the young man. It's OK for me and we're both the same height.
Well somebody must have moved it, said the young lady. I can't see myself in it. All I can see are the cars behind us.

Hi I'm back .
Had a very busy week, our daughter is selling her house and she is looking for a new one ,we have been out most days house hunting .It has got me wanting to move now as we could do with down sizing but I don't think I could put up with all the upheaval and sorting out all the rubbish we have collected over the years.

Also been taking advantage of the nice weather to sort out the garden ,it has been really glorious here the past few days , if this is a sample of the summer to come it will be far too hot for me ,think I will move to the North Pole.

Had a good laugh at all your jokes Fussy.

No signs of Pauline returning yet ,hope she is OK, The Gravedigger seems to have vanished too.

Yeah, this bloomin' site is as slow as a pensioner doing an uphill marathon with a sack of spuds on his back TG.

I told Pauline about 2cuk and she was tamping mad, because like you TG, she had a hell of a lot of pictures of her pets and pics of the area where she lives, and also a lot of pics of Aberdare on there.
Were you able to recover any of your pics TG?

What's annoying as well is the quality of Broadband in this country. We seem to be lacking electronics technique, because it is far superior on the continent, and most certainly in Japan.
I get cut off several times a day. It's a b***** nuisance.

We love those seedless grapes too, but as you say they are quite expensive.Still we might just as well spend our money on what we fancy as we sure can't take it with us.
A few years ago when I had High blood pressure I had to eat more fruit and veg to lose a bit of weight and the dietitian said not to eat more than 15 grapes a day as there was quite a lot of sugar in them.!!!!!!!!!!!!

The children use them to play football cricket and general running around ,the oval shaped one does have a childrens park on it .On the one near use they started to build a park as you can see by the area that has been dug ,but it was objected to as it was too near the houses .There use to be a park on the concrete part but it got vandalised and the druggies and can drinkers use to hang out there and cause all sorts of trouble ,so people did not want another park.

When the Covingham area was built it won an award for the way it was laid out.

Yes I am concerned about that flashing light pushing up my electric bill,If it does I will send the bill to Pauline

Well, seeing as this is my 'Likes and Dislikes' page, I'm going to use it today to say,...this is a lousy bloomin' day innit.
It's more like the middle of November, and our little Christmassy icons up above deserve their presence.
There's no knowing what a British morrow will bring, eh!
Ho! Ho! Ho!

Could be worse I suppose,....somebody could have stolen my Thayers ice-cream from our freezer, and my Milk Flakes from my secret cupboard.

I'm surprised that no one has been on here today, 'cos this is surely computer weather. Don't tell me you've all been to the beach today.
Ho! Ho! Ho!
