Well, you've opened my eyes Bob. I wasn't aware that those evil morons approved the killing of various types of animals in the manner you described,..and that so called Archbishop who says that animals don't have souls certainly verifies that HE hasn't got a b****y soul, and I wish him and his cronies also to be shoved off the roof of the highest skyscraper on earth. And I would be the first volunteer to do the shoving. |

It is shocking the way some people treat animals and when they get caught they usually only get banned from keeping animals for a short time ,they should be banned for life.
I did not know what religious people agreed with the killing of animals either ,that is awful I thought they believed in protecting all Gods creature. Then I suppose there are religions that do sacrifice animals to their gods .
A Strange world we live in. |

I couldn't agree more BG,...I'd ban the morons for life as you say, and chain them to a stake in the city centre for a week, and pelt them with rotten apples dipped in sludge. I'd have no mercy on them.
Who agrees with me? |

Fussy It sounds like you have a sweet tooth as you seem to have these sweet treats quite often .
I enjoy sweet things too and at our age why shouldn't we eat just what ever we fancy .
I've past caring about putting on weight now and they say a little of what you fancy does you good ,except I like a LOT LOT LOT of what I fancy. LOL |

Yeah, I've got a sweet tooth BG,...think I've got several sweet teeth. I love fruit cake (but only the way Liz makes it) not too much fruit, I like to see the cake - if you know what I mean, - some fruit cake has so much fruit that you have to explore to find the cake. Ho! Ho! I suppose that's why I'm known as Fussy. No, I'm not a fussy character really, I'm pretty easy going.....until I read about some vile morons illtreating defenceless animals,...then my blood pressure zooms up to dizzy heights. I also have a ready tooth for a nice piece of boneless hake. I think it stems from my childhood when I used to nip up to Albie John's fish and chip shop in Howell's Row off Cwmdare square, for fish and chips back in the 30s. Fish and two pennorth of chips,...one shilling and three pence. You got about 3 of those hand-shovel fulls, for tuppence. Happy Days BG!!! Yabba Dabba Doo! |

We were thinking we might go to Spain for our next holiday, but after what Bob's told us I don't think we'll bother
Don't see very much hake about these days Fussy, I'm not sure that I've ever even tasted it myself |

Yeah, I'm with you all the way Bob. All those b*****s in Spain should be strung up. Or, stick em in a plane and fly them out to Burma and drop 'em in the middle of the jungle. That, believe me would sort 'em out M8. Hey, Bob,..a mate of mine has just phoned me this morning to tell me that a pal of his sent him 9x330ml bottles of San Miguel beer. I've never heard of that brand before. What's it like? My mate likes his drop,....just like you. Ho! Ho! Ho! |

WOW the postings are coming thick and fast today ,you all seem to have your chatty heads on.
Talking about cruelty to animal I just read on another site that a dog had been found dead hanging from a tree in Aberdare .Whoever did such a shocking thing must be sick in their mind ,they should be shut away for life . Thats if they ever find out who did it. |

Yeah, you CAN get hake TG. But it's a bit pricy, I think it's about £15 for a whole small hake, 'cos it's in short supply, but we get it here in Swansea market...2 small fillets for a fiver.
Ho! Ho! Ho! Beer flavoured icecream,...what next, eh! Trust you Robert to think up something daft! On the other hand, it wouldn't surprise me to see some idiot making a fortune from starting something like that in the food line. You never know, it might just taste tasty. |

You can get Hake up here in the Fish and chip shop but you have to order it just before you go there as they don't get much call for it.
I quite like rum and raisin icecream too ,you can also get baileys icecream which is Super Duper . |

Just read in the daily paper. Some maniac in Bridgwater Som' has killed 18 cats by poisoning them with anti-freeze, which mean't that they died in agony. Now, if it was up to me, I'd punish that vile moron by having him cuffed - hands and feet - strapped down, and force-fed with a gallon of the same anti-freeze. It makes my blood boil to think that any waster of a man could be so b****y cruel to a defenceless creature. |

If I left it to "M" all we would take are a couple of plastic carrier bags. It will be a nice break for us hope the weather will be good ,shame you can't come with us you could buy a scooter and you and M could race up and down the prom all day. LOL
I may pop in again tomorrow if I have time.If not I'll chat to you all when I get back. |

OOPS I forgot to say what I thought about all those poor cats being killed ,it is absolutely disgraceful . Who every could do such a think is an evil sick person and like you I would give them the same treatment as they gave the poor cats.
What a sad world we are living in at the moment ,will things ever change for the better I wonder , we can live in hope I suppose. |

Yes, you are so right BG. What with all the crime committed by young children as young as 7, and the knife carrying yobs who, in reality, are hardly out of their nappies, we certainly have 'lost it' in this country. I'm afraid it will go on and on and on, because these criminals have no fear whatsoever of the timid punishment they face for their vile crimes. We are in a right sorry state in this country. |

Just read this news item on my ISP a few minutes ago: A 16 year old youth has been locked up for life with a minimum term of 12 years, for the murder of a 14 year old schoolboy.
I'm beginning to wonder if I really understand English!
What a joke!....No, it isn't a joke, it's downright b****y unforgivable. |

BG, There was quite a lot about Weymouth on the BBC programme Countryfile on Sunday morning. It showed film of the beach, with it's Punch and Judy show, and quite a lot about the long stretches of sandy beaches around that area. If I'd known beforehand it was going to be on the programme, I would have recorded it on DVD and sent it on to you. |

Pauline, I've only just been able to get back on line. I'm dumbstruck at your posting. What is the matter? Are you not well? How about letting me know what the problem is.
Only minutes ago I received some sad news from Mrs Gemini, so this is not my day by the look of things.

Oh Fussy, I've been getting myself into a heck of a state here, and my not feeling too well hasn't helped, but I've just had a message giving me a short reprieve, so hopefully things will eventually come right. It's too complicated to go into tonight as I'm absolutely k*******d, but I'll try and tell you all about it tomorrow.
What was the sad news from Mrs Gemini ? I never even got to chat to her as I had to go into hospital almost immediately after she started posting, and then I was computerless for all those months and by the time I got back online she'd disappeared. Hope she didn't think I was rude for not welcoming her to the site.
Well I'm going to bed now, with a bit of luck I'll be feeling a bit more cheerful in the morning |

Pauline, Whatever it is that's got you in a bit of a state of anxiety, I hope it will sort itself out soon, and give you a bit of breathing space.
Regarding your query about Mrs Gemini,...it is extremely sad, but I don't think it is appropriate to talk about it on here Pauline as it is much too personal. I'm not sure of your latest e-mail address, so if you send me one I'll reply to it, and let you know more.
Take care. |

Well I really do hope that Beacon Girl and Moonraker have been having better weather down in Weymouth than we're having here or as you say their holiday will have been a pretty poor one
Pauline, you sound very down in the dumps, hope you problems whatever they are can be sorted soon so you can get back to your cheerful self again and amuse us with a few of your funny stories
Fussy, that sounds very mysterious about Mrs Gemini, she's had a rough time these past few years and now from the sound of things she seems to be having even more. Whatever her troubles are tell her I'm thinking of her. |

Hi all
Well we came back home yesterday from holiday but have been busy all day today at our daughters house.
While we were on holiday our daughter had a phone call from her solicitor to say her house move date was 21st August she was not expecting it so soon. So it is now all hands on deck packing up all their stuff . Will try and get in here again tomorrow to tell you all about our holiday.
I think we will need another holiday after all the packing and unpacking is done.

I'm whistling one of my favourite songs from one of my favourite films. Born Free. And there was only one crooner who could sing it to perfection in my opinion,...Matt Monro. Even Sinatra reckoned that Matt was the best crooner ever to come out of this country. He was born, Terry Parsons in 1931, and when he was coached by Winifred Atwell she got him to change his name to her father's first name..Monro and introduced him to Decca recording company, from which he never looked back. Sadly, he died in 1985 aged just 54. Don't find any of his kind around these days, eh! |

Matt Munro was certainly a great crooner, the film Born Free was great too. They don't seem to make films like that any more. We seem to get Violent films or Robotic films that I find quite boring .
You would never get me whistling as the old say is.....

Fussy Was that program about the mayor of London you watched called "Who do you think you are" We have just watched that , what a fascinating program it was a really interesting family line he had.
Our hobby is doing family history and we have watched the series since they started ,we even made sure we watched it on holiday last week.
Off to bed now as it is moving day tomorrow for our daughter and family so will need all the sleep we can get.I expect I will be the tea lady .LOL

Yes, that's the programme BG. It's worth watching as there are some amazing facts that crop up. We've watched most of them,..Natasha Kaplinsky and Patsi Kensit's were good too. I would love to be able to go back about 6 generations, but I would find it a bit difficult having to visit local libraries and local records offices. But I was grateful when M got me those records of my parents and grandparents a few years ago. My niece was quite thrilled to have those details, because she had no idea of some of those that M had located. M is a clever boy!!!
Gerry Springer's is due shortly too. He has some German connections in his line, I think. |

It is a good program and we will be watching them all ,wish we were famous so they would do ours save us a lot of searching and expense.
Alas we have never found anybody rich or famous in our families.
Over the years we have spent many hours in Record offices all over the country ,we don't do it often now the travelling gets too much for us. Luckily there are lots of records on line now although you have to pay for most of them.

No, it's not sport mun BG. It's Poirot, and Midsomer Murders and On the Buses, and, and, and, and Heartbeat, and Morse and Sherlock Holmes, and that sort of armchair viewing. Ho! Ho! Ho! You'd fall asleep before you knew it! |

They sound like my sort of programs.
Did not get to watch them though as "M" got settled watching the film "Exodus" on BBC2. I sat and did some of my jigsaw puzzle. |

Oooooh, another jigsaw fanatic, eh! You've got company BG,...Liz is also dabbling in jigsaws. She was doing a 1000 piece picture a few weeks ago, and when she wasn't looking, I stole one of the little pieces belonging to the basket of flowers hanging around the little cottage door. And when she got near the end, she said...damn, I've lost the piece with the lilac flower on it. When I fished it out of my pocket, she chased me out into the garden and locked me out for an hour. Ho! Ho! Ho! Nothing like a good laugh! |

Fussy That was a very wicked thing to do ,I would have locked "M" in the garage for a week and fed him dry bread and water if he did that to me , plus he would look like this .There is nothing worse than finishing a puzzle and find that one piece is missing .
There is always a puzzle on the go in this house I love doing them and find it very relaxing. Love doing crosswords and Suduko too ,think I have too much spare time on my hands most days.
Going to watch the closing ceremony of the Olympic games this afternoon ,if it is as good as the opening ceremony I will thoroughly enjoy it. It is all the sport inbetween that I don't like .LOL |

Hi Folks it is quiet here!! Been to see our solicitor this afternoon, and it hasn't been a very good day for either Richard or myself. I think things are just getting to us lately, and I'm beginning to feel sorry for myself. Richard is out most days, going into town or across to Asda's, whereas after I have taken the dogs out, my time is spent with household chores!! So I rarely leave the house for days! I do spend a lot of time on my PC as well Being on my own I start thinking a lot of things - I want to start putting photos together of Chris and Rob, for Tilly to know about her Dad and uncle. I have started to write about them as well, and tell her how much Chris loved her!! I get so far and have to leave it, as I get so upset!! Anyway, one step at a time Our solicitor seems to think the only way we are going to see Tilly is by going to court for contact with her - "no rest for the wicked is there?" Perhaps one day, everything will be rosy, and all this will be one bad dream!! As Rob used to say "Yesterday's history, tomorrow's a mystery!" Sorry to have put a damper on everything today Folks! I hope I'll have some good news for you soon |

Mrs Gemini Sorry to you are feeling low at the moment you will get some bad days ,you should go out with Richard when he goes off out ,never mind the housework it can wait for another day,get out and about as much as you can. It's good you have the dogs as it makes you go out for theie sake . Rob was always chatting about the dogs he loved them to bits.
Lovely idea writing about Chris and Rob and putting photos together for Tilly I'm sure in years to come she will really appreciate that.
It is wicked that you have to go to a solicitor so that you can see Tilly ,I wish you all the luck in the world with this hope it turns out well for you.
Take Care BG

BOO! I'm back,...after having one hell of a week with this broadband problem. I've tried two other ISPs this week as well, and both were worse than the one I've already got. So I'm back to square 1. BTW, I've been cut off twice in the last twenty minutes, so I'll have to be quick. Regarding my concern for Mrs Gemini and Richard, I'm going to e-mail them in a minute, so it won't matter if this cuts off, 'cos I'll be offline then.
I'll be back on here after I get the e-mail away.

Just read an article about your home. We all think that when you lock your door, and settle down to a peaceful relaxing time, with no fear of anyone having the right to knock your door and DEMAND entry. Well,...think again. There are over a thousand ways that town hall inspectors can come into your property, to see if something illegal is going on, like unregulated hypnotism, and the presence of rabbits. I can hear you laughing now, but hang-on, there are others. Under the Household Refridgeration and Freezers law they can check and seize fridges that are not of the correct energy rating. And they can inspect your property to see whether performing animals, such as performing bears are being trained or exhibited without a permit. There are a total of 1043 powers of entry regulations in force now.
Ho! Ho! Ho! I've always said,...it's a funny old world, eh!

BG, Ask M if he would accompany me to move to Newcastle so that we could both be co-managers of Newcastle United. We would willingly run the team for a mere £10.000 each per week.
If Kevin Keegan has packed the job in,...M and me could do the necessary, as easy as pie. |

Yes M said he will accompny you to Newcastle to be co manager ,I'm sure you would both make a good job of it ,after all you have both clocked up a few years watching it so know all the ins and outs of the game. £10,000 a week would be lovely ,although I do not know what I would do with so much money as there is very little I would want to change in my life. Give it all to the children and grand children I suppose to make their lives easier as it is a hard struggle for them the way the economy of this country is going at the moment. |

AAARRRGGGHHHHHH
I have just been stung by a wasp it was hanging on my arm and I could not get it off ,swatted it off eventually and it left the sting in and a chunk of its body. I have bathed it with vinegar as I think that is supposed to take away the stinging but it is not working and it hurts like mad.

I'm going to sing a song now:
I'm forever blowing bubbles, Pretty bubbles in the air They fly so high, till they reach the sky Then all at once, they fade and die,
Fortunes always hiding, I've looked everywhere I'm forever blowing bubbles Pretty bubbles in the air.
How's that then? How many of my friends on here know that little tune, eh?
Ho! Ho! Ho! It's a dreary old world at the present, so I thought I'd cheer you up.

Thanks Fussy ,my wasp sting is getting better it is still red and swollen but the pain is easing now thank goodness.
That is a nice cheerful song
All I can think of singing right now is.....
"Raindrops keep falling on my head."
They are promising a few days of heavy rain and possible flooding ,it will mean another weekend in doors I expect. |

Forgot to ask if you watched "Who do you think you are "last night ,the Esther Rantzen one her family history was really interesting.
Last weeks Jerry Springer one was very sad as it covered stories of his family in the consentation camps , brings it home to you just how horrific it all was. |

The Beer Song
Oh... what is the malt and liquor? What gets you drunken quicker? What comes in bottles or in cans? (Beer) Can't get enough of it (Beer) How we really love it (Beer) Makes me think I'm a man (Beer) I could kiss and hug it (Beer) But I'd rather chug it (Beer) Got my belly up to here (Beer) I could not refuse a (Beer) I could really use a beer, beer, beer
Beer, beer, beer, beer, beer, beer, beer, beer
I can't remember how much I have had I drank a twelve-pack with my dad (BURP!) That's my son the drunken manly stud I'm proud to be his bud Here have some pretzels No, I'll call it quits Those things give me the shlits (ha ha ha)
Drink with your family Drink it with your friends Drink till you're fat, stomach distends Beer is liquid bread, it's good for you We like to drink till we spew! Ew! Who cares if we get fat? I'll drink to that
As we sing once more...
What is the malt and liquor? What gets you drunken quicker? What comes in bottles or in cans? (Beer) Can't get enough of it (Beer) How we really love it (Beer) Makes me think I'm a man (Beer) I could kiss and hug it (Beer) But I'd rather chug it (Beer) Got my belly up to here (Beer) Golly, I adore it! (Beer) Come on dammit, pour it! Do it for me, brew it for me Feed it to me, speed it to me (Beer) The most wonderful drink in the world HOORAY!!! (BURP) |

Ooooooh! Stormy Wales, eh! What's it like in Aberdare I wonder Can't remember it being as bad as this for bloomin' years. They say it's the worst August since 1992,...well, I can't remember what it was like then, because at that time I was too busy recovering from my operation, to notice what the blinkin weather was like.
Where is our friend Pauline??? Hope she's OK.

The weather has been awful , heard on the news that the Cynon valley has had quite a bit of flooding ,it seems roads into Aberdare are closed.
We are lucky it has not flooded round here this time even though it rained all night and all morning ,it has stopped at the moment but the sky looks very black so there is more to come.
Hope it is drier tomorrow as we are of to Salisbury for the day. |

I was wondering about your part of the world BG. You live in a flat area don't you. I've just heard on BBC Wales, Aberdare and Pontypridd have had a horrid time, and there's more to come tonight.
We seem to escape any serious flooding where we are, as we are just below Cwmdonkyn Park where Dylan Thomas used to spend a lot of his time, a stone's throw from the house which was his birthplace, and any flooding seems to gush down the road, past our place, luckily!
One house in Ponty had about 5 feet of water in it. They had to rescue the young mother and her child from the upstairs.

Fussy That is a nice area you live in ,do you go for walks around the park.
We have been luck to miss the flood this time although the back garden is pretty boggy today ,they are forcasting more rain for Wales today but no much for us, it seems to be moving up north now.
They are going to have to stop building houses on flood plains as they say that our weather generally is going to get wetter in the future. It must be awful for the people who get their houses flooded year after year and their carpets and furniture gets ruined .Lots of insurance companies will not insure them any more.

Hi Folks - Well Aberdare was a complete wash-out yesterday. It's a long time since I've seen so much water on our main road!! Fortunately, I don't think it went into anyone houses, at least not around where I live. I was told this morning, that where Chris used to live there was water in the houses, either side of his house . Well it's up to the estate agent now - as I don't suppose "anyone" will have been down to check on the house !! Schools were closed because of flooding, the boys Comprehensive the roof fell in!! Houses by the Brook were flooded, and a lot of shops in Aberdare had to close because of the water- also Asda's!! We are only into the first week of September, goodness knows what will happen if we have snow!! |

I don't think you fancied the port I dished out to you last Sunday, Larry. I could tell by the way you looked when you sipped it. Go get your glass quick, I've just got another 1 litre bottle of Baileys this morning. Hold it still now, right,....blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb. That's a double you've got there M8. Sip it slowwwwwwwwwly now, make it last half an hour. Better than that old port, innit!
Ho! Ho! Ho! I'm spoiling you, aye.

Ooooh, sorry Larry,..I was interrupted for a while there. Would you believe it, I got a message from an old pal of mine when we were in school in 1936. I've been waiting these last 8 years for someone my age to get in touch, so I got an e-mail from Friends Reunited to say that one of my school chums wanted to contact me. No-one ever got in touch, and now after all these years I'm in luck. Ho! Ho! |

If I had a car, I'd take a trip down to Sardis to see if Pauline had escaped all this flooding. But now that I've given my Nissan to my daughter and son-in-law, I'm stranded!
But, at least I've saved having to pay the stupid increases in the cost of running four wheels these days. |

BG, Go get your wine glass, quick. Grab one for M as well. Place them on the table, 'cos if you're a bit shaky I might spill some, and I can't afford that,...not on my pension! Ready, OK...blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb. Now the other glass,...blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb, blwb. Calm down now,...sip it slowwwwwwwwly, make it last about an hour. M will sip his a bit quicker 'cos he hasn't got the willpower of his better-half.....(he'll whack me for that.) Ho! Ho! Ho! It's a mad old world, aye! Sometimes, I don't think I'm a full shilling.
