Cawl Cennin

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1/2lb. piece of Bacon
1lb. of potatoes
1/2lb. of carrots
2 large leeks
1/2 a pint of milk
2 teaspoonsful chopped parsley
quantity of grated cheese ( to taste )
Salt and Pepper
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Place Bacon in large saucepan of water seasoned with a LITTLE salt and pepper (!), bring to the boil and continue to boil gently
for about 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, peel and cut up the potatoes and carrots and clean
and chop the leeks.

After 20 minutes skim fat from top of saucepan and add the
vegetables to the bacon.

Simmer until they are tender ( approx. 20 minutes ) then add the milk and re-heat but do not allow to boil. Add the chopped parsley.
Serve with sprinkling of grated cheese. ( Enough for 4 people )

Clueless

Clueless,
The Cawl was great. Brought back memories of when I was single and living at home. During the winter my mother made Cawl every Saturday for lunch. So I had a bowl full before going to play rugby.
