Liz's Special! Bread and Butter Pudding with a difference:
4 large thick slices of Brown or Wholemeal Bread. 1 pint Milk. 4 medium size eggs. Butter,...and thick-cut orange Marmalade (for spreading.) Couple of handfuls of Sultanas (or Raisins.) Nutmeg,..to taste. 2 tablespoonfuls Demerara sugar.
Method: Butter bread and spread liberally with marmalade. Cut each slice into 3 pieces. Layer a medium size oven dish (similar to a Lasagnia dish) with the pieces of bread,..add some of the sultanas, and sprinkle on nutmeg and sugar. Add a second layer, and repeat the sprinkling of sultanas, nutmeg and sugar. Beat together 1 full egg, and the yokes of of the other 3. Add the pint of milk and stir together,...when mixed, pour over the bread and leave for a few minutes to allow the bread to soak up the eggs/milk. Top-up with any spare liquid. Place in centre of oven at 200 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes....according to type of cooker. Result: SCRUMPTIOUS.

That bread and butter pudding sounds great. I will have to crack the whip over BG and get her to make it. Tell Liz I will give a report as soon as her indoors gets it made.

Fussy, I've given up worrying about my waistline. The bread and butter pudding is no more. Saw off the last piece about 10 minutes ago. Must remember to put pressure on BG to make more. I will be for ever indebted to Liz.
